Off the Grid is seeking a Junior Social Media & Content Producer to bring our food community to life across every digital channel. You’ll be the voice behind our social feeds, the producer behind our video content, and the connector between our vibrant market experiences and the audiences who love them.
For 15 years, we’ve been the heartbeat of the Bay Area’s food scene—from our iconic night markets that launched countless food entrepreneurs to our innovative placemaking initiatives that turn ordinary spaces into extraordinary community experiences.
About Off the Grid Off the Grid has been at the forefront of building food driven community spaces since 2010. Best known for hosting some of the Bay Area’s biggest recurring night markets, Off the Grid has evolved into a dynamic placemaking platform that unlocks the value of public and private spaces for our customers through blending curated food experiences, temporary event production, and experiential elements.
Your Role: Digital Content & Community Reporting to the Marketing Manager, you’ll own the day-to-day content production and community engagement that keeps Off the Grid’s digital presence vibrant and growing. This is a hands‑on production role—you’ll be shooting, editing, writing, posting, and engaging every day. You’re not managing strategy from a distance; you’re in the markets with your phone, capturing the energy of our food community and turning it into content that drives engagement and revenue.
What You’ll Own Social Media Content Production
Produce and publish content across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube—including Reels, carousels, stories, and short‑form video
Shoot and edit video and photo content on‑location at markets and events
Write compelling captions that reflect Off the Grid’s brand voice and drive engagement
Maintain and execute the social media content calendar in coordination with the Marketing Manager
Monitor trends and adapt content formats to capitalize on what’s working on each platform
Write and build DTC newsletters (2–3 per week) in Mailchimp/ActiveCampaign, including weekly market updates and campaign‑driven sends
Build drip campaign email sequences designed by the Growth Marketing Lead in ActiveCampaign
Track email performance metrics (open rates, click rates, conversions) and report monthly
Coordinate with the B2B newsletter owner to align messaging across audience segments
Own daily community management cadence (30–45 minutes): respond to comments, DMs, and mentions across all platforms within 4 hours
Reshare and amplify food creator content to build creator loyalty and community connection
Monitor and respond to reviews on Yelp, Google, and other reputation platforms
Conduct weekly social listening scan using Mention: flag stories, respond to mentions, identify campaign opportunities
Identify user‑generated content opportunities and community stories worth amplifying
Manage the ongoing creator feature content series—41 creators and growing—coordinating with the designer on graphics and scheduling publication across newsletter and social
Produce creator spotlight videos, interviews, and behind‑the‑scenes content at markets
Maintain the creator content database and track publication pipeline
Track social media analytics across all platforms and produce monthly performance reports
Support the Marketing Manager with data for campaign retrospectives and sales enablement updates
Maintain Active Campaign contact tagging and list management as directed by the Growth Marketing Lead
Update website content pages as needed in coordination with the team
1–3 years in social media content creation, digital marketing, or a related role
Demonstrated portfolio of social media content you’ve produced (personal or professional)
Experience shooting and editing short‑form video (Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts)
Proficiency writing for social platforms—you understand what works on each channel
Genuine enthusiasm for food culture, local food scenes, and community building
Comfort working on‑location at outdoor markets, food events, and production environments
Appreciation for diverse culinary traditions and the entrepreneurs behind them
Proficiency in Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube content tools
Video editing skills (CapCut, Adobe Premiere Rush, or similar mobile‑first editing tools)
Experience with email marketing platforms (Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, or similar)
Working knowledge of social media analytics and scheduling tools (Meta Business Suite, Later, or similar)
Basic graphic design skills or comfort working with templates in Canva or Figma
Highly “online”—you naturally follow trends, understand platform algorithms, and know what makes content shareable
Self‑starter who can manage a daily content cadence without constant oversight
Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple content streams and deadlines
Collaborative mindset—you’ll work closely with our designer, marketing manager, and food creators
Location: San Francisco, CA (local candidates only—you’ll be on‑site at markets regularly)
Reports to: Marketing Manager
Team: Work alongside our designer, marketing manager, and growth marketing lead
Schedule: Monday–Friday with some evenings/weekends during market events and peak seasons
Travel: Occasional within the Bay Area to market locations (less than 25%)
