Basic Function The Marketing Specialist – Graphic Design & Communications is responsible for creating
compelling visual content
and supporting
marketing communications initiatives
that advance WEOKIE Federal Credit Union’s overall marketing strategy and brand identity. This position serves as a
steward of WEOKIE’s established brand standards , producing consistent, high-quality marketing materials aligned with existing visual guidelines.
The role is design-forward but execution-focused, emphasizing
print and digital production, content layout, copy refinement, and creative asset development . While graphic design is central, the position also requires the ability to
develop and refine written marketing content . This position operates within a
structured, compliance-driven financial services environment .
Major Activities
Design and produce visual marketing materials including brochures, flyers, posters, banners, digital ads, and in-branch collateral that align with WEOKIE's brand guidelines and credit union goals. Assist in drafting, editing, and refining marketing copy for print and digital materials to ensure clarity, accuracy, and brand alignment. Create both print-ready and web-optimized graphics for various marketing channels. Ensure all materials adhere closely to established brand standards and visual guidelines, maintaining consistency across all member-facing communications. Develop and refine marketing copy for select campaigns and materials as needed, ensuring clarity, accuracy, alignment with brand voice, and adherence to regulatory standards. Coordinate with and maintain relationships with print vendors and promotional suppliers, obtain quotes, manage production timelines, and support campaign logistics to ensure cost-effective, high-quality, on-brand delivery of marketing materials.
Develop brand-consistent graphics for social media platforms, email campaigns, website content, and digital marketing initiatives. Work closely with the Director of Marketing, VP of Marketing, and internal stakeholders to ensure visual and written messaging align with strategic objectives and member communication goals. Demonstrate comfort making routine content updates within website or digital marketing platforms, including light editing and formatting of web content (no advanced coding required). Assist in tracking campaign timelines, coordinating cross-functional deliverables, and maintaining organized project workflows within established project management systems.
Support monitoring of WEOKIE’s social media platforms and digital engagement channels, assisting with responses to member inquiries, identifying potential issues, and escalating concerns to protect brand reputation and member experience. This may require occasional evening or weekend attention based on engagement activity.
Create presentation materials and infographics for internal training, member education, and executive reporting. Transform complex financial information into clear, visually appealing graphics and written summaries suitable for members with varying levels of financial knowledge. Prepare clear written summaries to accompany visual materials when communicating complex financial information to members or internal stakeholders. Provide marketing support for member events, community initiatives, and branch locations by preparing promotional materials, coordinating logistics with internal teams, and ensuring consistent, timely brand representation across all locations.
Maintain and enhance WEOKIE's visual brand standards, ensuring consistency across all marketing touchpoints. Update and refine brand guidelines as needed to support evolving marketing strategies.
Support the Marketing Department with photo editing, image sourcing, and digital asset management. Organize and maintain design file libraries for efficient workflow and brand consistency.
Stay current on design trends, basic SEO best practices, software updates, and visual marketing standards relevant to financial services and credit union marketing.
Execute marketing materials within established templates and brand frameworks, focusing on clarity, professionalism, and consistency rather than conceptual reinvention.
Demonstrate professional maturity when receiving constructive feedback and adapt quickly to shifting priorities, campaign adjustments, or strategic pivots while maintaining quality and alignment with leadership direction.
Operate effectively within a structured, compliance-driven financial services environment, ensuring all materials adhere to regulatory standards, brand guidelines, and internal approval processes.
Perform other duties as assigned, i.e. reporting, budgeting, etc. Ensures proper policies, procedures, risk mitigation activities, and operating controls are followed. Reports gaps in policies, procedures, and operating controls to leadership to ensure member impact and risk is mitigated.

Deliver high-quality, brand-compliant visual designs with minimal errors according to established marketing department standards and within budget.
Support achievement of planned market share, assets, loans, and other product/service objectives through effective visual communication.
Provide creative design solutions that enhance marketing team effectiveness in planning and implementing promotional campaigns.
Maintain consistent brand visual identity while ensuring compliance with credit union and regulatory standards.
Successful contribution to meeting WFCU's growth objectives through compelling visual marketing materials.
Communicate effectively with management in a timely and appropriate manner, submitting required design deliverables by established deadlines.
Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness by adjusting deliverables efficiently in alignment with evolving marketing priorities while maintaining high standards of quality and brand integrity.
Provide informed, professional, and accurate design services to both internal staff and marketing initiatives while maintaining a positive image for WFCU.
Qualifications
Specialized or Technical Knowledge and Skills
A Bachelor's Degree is required in either graphic design, visual communications, marketing, or related field and/or minimum of 2–5 years of related marketing, communications, or graphic design experience.
Strong organizational skills (planning and prioritizing) and communication skills (written, verbal, and listening) are critical.
Hands‑on experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Microsoft products, and Asana Project Management Platform. Experience with HubSpot programming also preferred. Experience with content management systems (CMS) and familiarity with digital marketing tools is preferred. Basic understanding of SEO principles and digital performance considerations is a plus.
Must be detail-oriented, with an ability to work independently, under pressure, and within moving deadlines while maintaining design quality standards.
Ability to blend technical design skills with creative problem‑solving from a business point of view to provide seamless support of department initiatives.
Ability to represent WEOKIE professionally, interact effectively, and deliver engaging presentations to various audiences, including members, business partners, and employees – articulate the Credit Union movement, the WEOKIE difference, the WEOKIE brand, and the benefits of WEOKIE products and services that result in deeper and more meaningful relationships.
Ability to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.
Bi‑lingual (Spanish) is a plus but not required.
