Director, Marketing, Communications and Strategic Partnerships
The Director of Marketing, Communications & Strategic Partnerships is responsible for leading the organization’s communication strategy, public relations efforts, and brand presence across all channels. This role serves as the primary liaison between internal teams, external advertising vendors, and key partner organizations, ensuring consistent messaging, strong relationships, and high-impact communications for all stakeholders.
This role operates at multiple levels – presenting to executive leadership and the Board of Directors while also executing high-priority initiatives. The Director is accountable for ensuring marketing and communications strategies are effectively executed through partners and vendors, while driving measurable outcomes that support organizational priorities.
Key Responsibilities Communications & Public Relations
Develop and execute comprehensive internal and external communication strategies.
Oversee public relations efforts, including messaging, media coordination, and reputation management.
Ensure consistent brand voice, tone, and positioning across all communication channels.
Manage relationships with multiple advertising and marketing vendors, ensuring performance, alignment, and cost-effectiveness.
Serve as the primary point of contact between
DDAR and DDWA , coordinating messaging and initiatives as it relates to website content management.
Align vendor deliverables with organizational objectives and timelines.
Develop and execute social and content strategies that support stakeholder‑specific marketing objectives, ensuring timely delivery.
Create, manage, and deploy content and campaigns across relevant digital and social platforms, aligning messaging with brand consistency.
Monitor performance metrics and adjust strategies based on insights and trends.
Direct the creation of customized marketing and communication materials for:
Clients
Brokers
Members
Providers
Internal stakeholders
Ensure collateral is tailored, compliant, on‑brand, and aligned with audience needs.
Collaborate with internal teams to identify communication needs and deliver effective materials.
Partner with executive leadership and cross‑functional teams to support organizational priorities.
Provide strategic guidance on communications best practices.
Manage budgets, timelines, and priorities across multiple initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field – experience in communications, marketing, or public relations.
Proven experience managing multiple external vendors and strategic partnerships in achieving goals within budget.
Strong strategic thinking, decision‑making and prioritization skills.
Demonstrated experience developing and executing marketing strategies by stakeholder group.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Experience operating at multiple organizational levels, including:
Presenting to executive leadership and Board of Directors
Rapidly executing high‑priority or time‑sensitive initiatives
