Under limited supervision, the Director of Operational Technology is responsible for the planning, implementation and management of the Asset Management, SCADA, Radio Communications and OT Security functions. The Director of OT's role is to ensure streamlined operation of the OT department in alignment with the organization's strategic goals and objectives. The Director of OT will work closely with decision makers in Operations, IT, Security and Management to identify, develop, recommend, implement and support cost‑effective technology solutions. The Director of OT will also establish and implement OT processes and procedures that align with industry best‑practices.

Duties Include But Are Not Limited To

Develops and implements short and long‑range plans involving the technology needs of Greenville Water to promote the productivity and compatibility of OT related activities.

Develops and maintains the OT Continuity Plan. This plan includes identification of critical operational functions supported by core applications and hardware with associated recovery time objectives, mitigation strategies, and resource requirements to ensure operational continuity. The plan will also address cybersecurity and documentation of disaster recovery procedures.

Evaluate and implement innovative strategies/technologies that will enhance operations and drive OT efficiencies.

Designs, implements and maintains procedures and controls necessary to ensure the protection of all Greenville Water operational technology system assets against intentional or inadvertent misuse, access, modification, disclosure or destruction.

Works with stakeholders to define operational and systems requirements for new technology implementations.

Maintains up-to-date knowledge of the latest technology trends and recommends appropriate products/solutions to maintain and improve application and system functionality and security.

Administers vendor, outsourcer and consultant contracts and service agreement.

Determines feasibility, cost, equipment needs and time constraints/allocations for assigned projects.

Prepares and manages the OT budget; develops business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for OT spending and initiatives.

Develop and enforce security policies and procedures for OT systems to protect critical infrastructure and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or related field, supplemented by seven (7) years of progressively responsible management experience in asset management, SCADA, system design, and information or operational technology is required; or possession of any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Certifications Prefer certification in OT areas such as Asset Management, SCADA, DCS or ICs; IT area such as data center, IT governance, enterprise (systems or applications) architect or information security.
