Managerial Duties
Manage everyday operations by supervising staff in the aquatic facility.
Hiring and training of Lifeguards.
Hiring and training of Swim Instructors.
Have knowledge of aquatic responsibilities and be able to perform job duties in the aquatic department.
Complete payroll for all aquatic staff.
Maintain discipline in the aquatics facility and supervise all staff enforcing staff policies and rules.
Document and report all disciplinary problems.
General Duties
Participate in continuing education of aquatics.
Attend meetings as directed by the CEO.
Serve as staff representative on Program Committee.
Keep all personal certifications updated.
Keep all aquatic staff certifications updated.
Review and update all policies and procedures as needed.
Yearly evaluation with aquatic staff.
Responsible for filling gaps in lifeguarding and swim instructor schedule.
Help maintain pool, equipment, and grounds to meet all necessary regulatory standards.
Follow systems, practices, and training related to risk management and safety of participants and staff, and follow accident reporting procedures.
Requirements: Education and Experience
Preferred CPR and First Aid (Training provided by the Y, if needed).
Preferred experience in supervising and scheduling staff.
Preferred bachelor’s degree in related field or experience working in a recreational or sports setting.
Trainer-level certifications will be required to obtain.
