2026 Canon Insights Summer Internship

Canon, U. S. A., Inc. is currently hiring for our 2026 Canon Insights Internship Program. The program will be held from Monday, June 1, 2026 - Wednesday, August 5, 2026.

Canon is an innovative global digital imaging leader that uses technology to dissolve the barriers we face in the connections we build, the experiences we create, and even the lives we live. We are looking for passionate and experienced students to join the Canon USA team. This is a paid summer internship 10-week robust experience based in our Melville, New York Headquarters.

What You'll Do:

You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on work experience by participating in significant work projects that help you learn, develop business skills, and provide a meaningful contribution to Canon's business and goals.

You will be exposed to world-class teams and our business, marketing, and strategy initiatives through training, meetings, presentations, and other planned activities.

You'll gain marketable skills and knowledge that you'll need in transitioning into the workforce.

You'll come to the office 3 days a week and 2 days with the option to work from home (unless a specific business need arises requiring in-office attendance on other days). This position offers a hybrid work schedule on full-time (9 AM - 5 PM) schedule based on a 35-hour work week. Note that work schedules and office reporting requirements may change from time to time based on business needs.

Who You Are:

An undergraduate student who is currently a junior or will be entering their senior year as of the Summer 2026, pursuing a major aligned to the department of interest.

Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong computer skills, including advanced proficiency in Google Workspace .

Team player and work independently.

Your Impact

The 2026 Canon Insights Summer Internship - Public Relations & Brand Social Media Intern would rotate between Public Relations and Brand Social Media, responsibilities would include but not limited to:

Public Relations:

Participate in media tracking (Canon and competitor brands)

Lead and manage an audit research project focused on media publications related to competitor activities, including thought leadership, product launches, and industry trends

Identify new media outlets, contacts, and platforms to help build and expand Public Relations media lists

Assist in crafting pitches and reviewing press materials, including press releases, media alerts, and related content

Participate in regular Public Relations meetings, both virtual and in-person, to stay informed and engaged with team initiatives

Brand Social Media:

Support the development of social media campaigns, including content creation and graphic design, for a Corporate Brand initiative in partnership with the New York Marine Rescue Center

Assist with identifying and executing cross-collaboration opportunities between PR and Social teams, including projects with Canon Corporate Social Responsibility partners

Contribute to content creation for Managed Print University Relations partners, such as Arizona State University, Creighton University, and the University of Louisville

Participate in regular Brand Social Media meetings, both virtual and in-person, to stay informed and engaged with ongoing projects

About You: The Skills & Expertise You Bring

The 2026 Canon Insights Summer Internship program is designed for an undergraduate student who is currently a junior or will be entering their senior year as of the Summer 2026, pursuing a major aligned to the department of interest.

Preferred majors: Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, or related disciplines

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey ideas clearly and professionally

Advanced proficiency in Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides, Chat and Drive)

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team

Demonstrated critical thinking skills and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset

Creative and eager to contribute innovative ideas

Highly detail-oriented, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced corporate environment

Familiarity with social media management tools such as Sprout Social (or similar), media monitoring platforms like Meltwater (or similar), and design tools such as Canva is a plus

We are providing the anticipated rate for this role: $20.00 hourly.
