Job Summary
A Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Business Consultant is a public service faculty position reporting to the Area Director. The person is responsible for providing counseling and delivering programs to individuals, businesses, communities, and organizations in their assigned geographic territory. This charge requires a broad base of business knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously. These duties require the integration of business theory and practice, thus necessitating professional development activities. Multi-county travel is required.

: Advocate for Economic Development and Collaboration: Act as a visible leader in the local business community, collaborating with private and public organizations to promote economic growth. : Support Organizational Improvement Efforts: Documentation of client work per SBA standards, supporting strategic initiatives and planning by serving on internal committees, supporting sponsorship development and creating individual work plans to support organizational goals.

Bachelors degree in Business or related field. Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a small business environment. Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree is preferred in Business or related field. Candidates with a Master's degree are eligible for faculty rank of Public Service Assistant (UG Candidates with a Bachelor's degree are eligible for appointment to Public Service Professional (UGA). This is a provisional faculty classification and is offered for no more than 6 years without completion of advanced degree or review.
