Position Summary The Mortgage Loan Processor/Closer works in tandem with First Guaranty Bank Mortgage Originators to provide quality customer service. Timely processes and closes all in-house portfolio loans and secondary market loans. This role requires solid proficiency for processing and closing bank portfolio, government, conforming and/or non-conforming loans with regular communication with both borrowers and originating lenders. Loans to be reviewed within 24-48 hours of being assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Order all verifications and information needed to submit a complete file to underwriting. i.e. Verification of Employment, Verification of Rent/Mortgage

Collect all insurance and tax information and send for Approval.

Review income, assets, and credit report to ensure file meets policy requirements.

Order and review appraisals to ensure policy requirements.

Order and review title work from closing attorney to confirm clear title.

Order and review Flood Determination.

Ensure all information collected is accurate in Calyx Point.

Prepare Adverse Action notices.

Ensure all customer files are complete and in compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.

Underwrite files with total exposure of

Maintain and track current pipeline for each loan officer.

Adhere to BSA/AML policy and all other bank policies.

Prepare and issue CD to borrower

Schedule loan closings.

Review approval to determine conditions have been met prior to closing.

Verify accuracy of documents such as abstract and insurance forms.

Prepare and explain closing requirements to settlement agent as needed.

Assemble documents and provide detailed instructions to title company and lending officer for closing.

Assemble loan documents needed for post-closing.

Work closely with compliance for HMDA purposes.

Maintain a “Loan Closing” log to track loan funding and rescission as well as receipt of executed loan package and recorded documents.

Process loan proceeds for closings via checks and/or wires.

Responsible for loan funding of all portfolio and secondary market loans.

Assist in clearing any closing/post-closing conditions.

Provide support to other areas of the department and promotes business for the bank by maintaining good customer relations and referring customers to the appropriate staff for new service.

Maintain Log notating Lender Paid Items/Exceptions/Rate of Fee Deviations.

Provide support with Loan Servicing for straightforward customer questions.

Maintain NMLS certification.

Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)

2 Years of Mortgage Loan/TRID experience preferred.

Experience in Laser Pro and Calyx is preferred.

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Exceptional organizational skills.

Ability to coordinate and prioritize workday effectively.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to learn new software systems quickly.

Accuracy and ability to coordinate and prioritize workday efficiently.

Must be a self-starter, conscientious, and comfortable with detail.

Ability to exhibit professionalism in communication skills.

Possess excellent typing skills.

Employee must work well under pressure, meeting multiple and conflicting deadlines.
