The Admissions Representative works in a dynamic team environment to facilitate student enrollment for Rasmussen University. The position is responsible for delivering attentive, timely, and effective service to students throughout the admissions process. The Admissions Representative will build strong relationships with prospective students through extensive outreach, including calls, emails, click‑to‑chats, text messages, and in‑person meetings. Through active listening, the Representative engages with students to understand and identify their educational needs. The role is further responsible for providing accurate and timely information on Rasmussen’s programs and services and guiding students through each enrollment step efficiently. The Representative serves as the prospective student’s primary contact, acting as liaison to Student Services, Financial Aid, and Career Services. The role will demonstrate a commitment to the University’s mission, vision, and values and support an environment of understanding, acceptance, and respect for diversity.

Responsibilities

Responsible for an individual recruitment goal, contributing to the team goal and working with students from inquiry through census. Admissions activities include outbound engagement, scheduling appointments, conducting informational interviews, assisting with student funding and financial aid planning, background checks, immunizations, and documentation of activities in the SIS per compliance, and following up with enrolled students as needed.

Maintains and explains accurate knowledge of programs and services, including entrance requirements, institutional and programmatic accreditation, tuition, and fees.

Exercises strong knowledge of student account services, re‑entry process, prior learning opportunities, transfer credits, scheduling, and the financial aid process to assist students efficiently through enrollment.

Builds strong relationships with prospective and current students by listening and identifying student needs.

Accurately presents Rasmussen University’s programs and services to prospective students, guiding them through career choices, educational options, and enrollment procedures.

Strictly adheres to all institutional, governmental, and accreditation policies, regulations, and codes of conduct.

Represents the University professionally through interactions with students, staff, and constituents.

Develops and monitors reports to enhance recruiting strategies and operational efficiency.

Cultivates a positive team environment by demonstrating accountability and dependability regarding productivity and conduct.

Implements and supports policy and procedural changes to ensure student and University success.

Shares best practices, tools, and expertise among peers, providing constructive input, ideas, and feedback as appropriate.

Participates in community events to generate interest and promote brand awareness.

Reporting Relationships The Admissions Representative may report to the Director of Admissions or Associate Director of Admissions, depending on the location, and has no direct reports.

Requirements

Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Minimum of one year of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in educational services, admissions counseling, customer service, or employee recruitment.

General knowledge of the higher education industry preferred.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, as required by the University and students.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proven customer service experience in a professional environment.

Self‑motivated, flexible, and capable of working in a team.

Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with students, management, and peers.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

A professional appearance and telephone manner are essential.
