
Superintendent – Public Works (Multi-Project)
Location:
San Jose, CA (Projects across the Bay Area: San Francisco, San Jose, Monterey)
Salary:
$160,000 – $180,000 annually

About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced
Public Works Superintendent
to lead and manage multiple active heavy civil infrastructure projects across the Bay Area. This role focuses on pump stations, sewer, storm, and water pipeline construction for municipal and public agency projects.
The ideal candidate is a hands‑on, solutions‑driven leader who can effectively oversee multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining safety, quality, and schedule performance.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise construction and installation of infrastructure systems, ensuring safety, quality, and timely completion
Oversee on‑site operations, including field crews and subcontractors
Collaborate closely with Project Managers on schedules, budgets, and execution plans
Ensure compliance with permits, environmental regulations, and public agency requirements
Conduct site inspections and proactively address safety or efficiency concerns
Resolve field and personnel issues to prevent project delays
Review and approve daily field reports and project documentation
Qualifications
Minimum
10 years of experience
in sewer, water, storm, or pipeline construction
Proven experience working as a Superintendent for a contractor managing multiple projects simultaneously
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) or Construction Management (BSCM) preferred
Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills
Demonstrated ability to manage schedules, crews, and subcontractors across concurrent projects
