Our client is a respected healthcare organization seeking a skilled Certified Medical Coder.
Minimum Qualifications Education High school diploma or equivalent required.
Certifications / Licenses
CPC or CPC-H certification (CPC strongly preferred).
ICD‑10 certification is required.
All certifications must remain active and in good standing.
Skills & Knowledge
Solid computer and data entry abilities.
Strong working knowledge of ICD‑9‑CM, ICD‑10‑CM, HCPCS, and CPT‑4 coding systems.
Experience
At least 1 year of experience as a certified medical coder in a physician practice or similar clinical setting, including hands‑on coding and documentation abstraction.
Candidates with 6+ months as a certified CPC and 3+ years of actual abstraction coding experience may also qualify.
An internal coding assessment will be conducted within the first 3 months of employment.
Work Structure Reporting To
Coding leadership within the medical group structure.
Primarily an office‑based position with standard administrative working conditions.
Must be familiar with general workplace safety practices.
Potential exposure to electrical or mechanical equipment typical of office environments.
