
Senior BSA Specialist
The Senior BSA/AML Specialistplays a critical role in protecting the financial institution from moneylaundering, terrorist financing, and other financial crimes. The position serves as a key line of defense,ensuring compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
At German American, we know it isour employees’ vast knowledge base and expertise that enables us to workefficiently while providing customer service excellence to support performance.As a Senior Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Specialist, you support the company missionof strong performance as you meticulously review transactions, serving as asecond-line of defense against money laundering and other illegal financialcrimes. Your work reviewingtransactions, providing support to front line staff, as well as acting as aresource for other BSA related topics, is essential in the company’s program tocomply with the Bank Secrecy Act.
What You’ll Do A Day in the Life Your focus will be on deterring and detectingthose who seek to misuse the U.S. financial system. Daily you will review currency transactionreports (CTRs), customer risk rating reports and forms, and transaction andrisk alerts provided by team members or Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering (BSA/AML)software, as well as perform Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) reviews oftransactions. You will also be completing high risk customer reviews along withreviews of customer activity for CTR exemptions. Your knack for detail willcome in handy as you review reports for unusual activity on a regular basis. Youwill create cases for any unusual activity that you uncover to aid in meetingBSA regulatory reporting requirements. Additionally, you will be involved in314B information sharing with other financial institutions. You will create andsubmit Suspicious Activity Reports. You will participate in system reviewsdesigned to validate functionality of software programs used by the BSA team.
You’re a Lifelong Learner Regulations change and to be in theknow you will stay engaged with industry news and resources, as well asparticipate in periodic training regarding all BSA/AML relatedregulations. At times, travel may berequired for training.

Ability to multi-task andprioritize in a regulatory reporting deadline driven environment
Detail oriented
Willingness and ability to learnour core processing software, BSA related software products and regulatoryrequirements, and bank policy
