The Campus Minister who serves as the Assistant Director for Faith Formation and Spiritual Accompaniment in east campus leads efforts to engage students in evangelization, faith formation, and spiritual growth opportunities as well as pastoral care and crisis response. Expressing an enthusiasm for the Catholic faith, the minister invites students to deepen and embody this faith as disciples of Christ. Cultivates a sense of belonging in ministry with a sensitivity to religious diversity and ecumenism. Serves as part of the Faith Formation and Spiritual Accompaniment leadership team to ensure a holistic approach that prioritizes student leadership and relational ministry, fostering a sense of belonging to the faith community across the student experience. This campus minister has specific responsibility for ministerial connection to students and staff living in Marianist Hall. This is NOT a live-in position. Supervises the implementation and ongoing development of the Callings pre-arrival program. Coordinates and supports department pilgrimages and retreats. Supervises two full-time campus ministers and leads a collaborative team of three full-time CM's and two Graduate Assistants. Full time, 12 months, full benefits. In light of the job duties associated with this position, the University considers the individual holding this position to be acting as a minister of the Catholic faith.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree

Three years experience in campus, young adult, youth ministry, or education in a Catholic context

Evidence of theological training and formation suitable for ministry, including some formal theology coursework (BA or MA level) or progression towards any Master’s degree

Willingness to pursue a Master’s degree in Theology/Pastoral Ministry

Willingness to work late evenings and some weekends

Desire to embody Catholic and Marianist traditions as a practicing Catholic, exhibiting public conduct and ministerial practices reflective of the teachings of the Catholic Church (clarified in hiring process)

Effective communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree strongly preferred (Theology, Pastoral Ministry, Religious Studies, Divinity, Education, Counseling or related field)

Direct higher education experience, particularly in ministry

Ability to drive innovative approaches to evangelization, catechesis, and ministerial accompaniment that lead to students deepening their relationship with God and with one another in faith community

Ability to supervise and support the success of full-time professionals in ministry

Ability to foster collaboration on a team Experience with pastoral care and crisis response

Effectiveness in developing retreat, faith communities and/or leadership experiences for undergraduate students

Ability to recruit, train, and supervise undergraduate student leaders in a ministry setting

Ability to generate enthusiasm for campus ministry and mentor college students

Ability to provide faith formation grounded in Catholic theology and spirituality

Practicing cultural competency in ministry with attention to inclusion and fostering a sense of belonging

Ability to organize and manage multiple projects and meet deadlines over time

Ability to successfully manage a budget

Experience taking initiative and working independently
