Trust Account Specialist This position is ideal for a finance professional dedicated to managing trusts and investments, focusing on building lasting relationships with clients that may span generations. The role supports both private and corporate trust accounts. Qualifications for Trust Account Specialist: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. JD and/or Master's degree preferred. 5-7 years of relevant experience in trust administration. A collaborative team player who thrives in a partnership-driven environment. Professional credentials like CTFA, CFP, CFA, CES, or equivalent. Strong understanding of trust investments, brokerage experience, and alternative delivery channels for trust services. Responsibilities of Trust Account Specialist: Manage trust account servicing by conducting regular account reviews, overseeing discretionary distribution requests, and fostering relationships with advisers, clients, and legal representatives. Work on researching legal matters, have a strong grasp of state and federal trust administration statutes, and assist in interpreting and executing instructions from governing documents such as Wills and Trusts. Engage actively in Trust Administrative Sub-Committee meetings and perform annual administrative account reviews. Ensure the retention and servicing of existing trust accounts. Oversee new account establishment and funding processes. Collaborate with advisers, the internal trust team, attorneys, accountants, and family members to facilitate prompt and precise estate settlements. This includes reviewing pertinent documents, approving payments for final expenses, gathering materials for tax returns, and ensuring appropriate distributions to beneficiaries. Coordinate trust tax return preparation with accountants, resolve coding and other issues relating to return preparation, and contribute to the formulation of new procedures for continuous improvement. Review tax returns for administered accounts and assist team members in ensuring timely preparation and review of returns. Lead or participate in projects as a subject matter expert in areas such as IRA development, financial planning coordination, system upgrades, and process enhancements.
