Customer Order Processing Specialist

LHH is seeking a Customer Order Processing Associate with experience and exposure to importing and/or exporting to support a manufacturing environment in Matthews, North Carolina. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate and timely order processing while coordinating closely with Manufacturing, Sales, and external logistics partners to support both domestic and international shipments via ground and air freight.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a strong emphasis on compliance, documentation, and communication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide world-class customer service to internal and external customers
  • Receive and process unit and parts orders from customers, sales teams, distributors, and international subsidiaries
  • Accurately input, review, and validate orders within internal systems
  • Obtain shipment specifications and coordinate with freight carriers and/or freight forwarders
  • Coordinate routing for both import and export bookings
  • Initiate and manage pickups and deliveries with authorized agents and freight forwarders
  • Prepare, process, and maintain commercial, shipping, and customs/regulatory documentation in accordance with purchase orders and country-specific import/export regulations
  • Handle shipment discrepancies, delays, or issues and work toward timely resolution
  • Communicate effectively with customers, foreign agents, and internal stakeholders via high volumes of email and phone correspondence
  • Maintain compliance with internal policies, external government regulations, and customer requirements at all times
  • Provide shipment status updates and delivery confirmations to the sales team
  • Perform additional administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications Summary
  • Experience in customer order processing, logistics, or supply chain support within a manufacturing or distribution environment
  • Working knowledge of import/export processes, shipping documentation, and freight coordination
  • Familiarity with domestic and international ground and air freight
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working with ERP systems and order management tools
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Sales, Manufacturing, and Logistics teams

Pay Details: $24.00 to $26.00 per hour
