Job Purpose\nAs Quality Director the role will be responsible for developing a world class quality culture and drive region wide continuous improvement projects that result in unparalleled quality performance. You will have the opportunity to reinforce foundational quality principles, as we develop innovative manufacturing, test, inspection and automation processes to build high quality semiconductor, defense and data infrastructure products. This position will be responsible for managing, coordinating and administering all functions of the region’s Quality Management System.

Nature of Duties/Responsibilities

Lead and mentor QA organizations.

Be an outspoken advocate for Quality First throughout the region.

Expediently and effectively communicate with customers on quality escapes, visits, escalations, etc.

Help maintain and improve the site QMS (including NCR and CAPA system, internal audit, training, etc.).

Responsible for ensuring effective quality planning (including PFMEAs, process flows and control plans) for NPI and production parts.

Help maintain the site QMS compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and TL9000, ISO 13485, FDA registration and any other regulatory compliance in line with the factory center of excellence.

Act as advisory to developing additional sources of data and tracking and reporting key Quality-related performance indicators (KPIs), including first pass yield, scrap rates and statistical process control.

Oversight of managing and improving site supplier quality.

Be an advocate for lean and six sigma manufacturing principles and drive continuous improvement.

Drive cross functional projects with manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering to verify and validate existing manufacturing processes and capabilities.

Coordinate development of Quality Plan and participate in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews for new customer onboarding.

Address process yields by driving cross-functional teams to develop and implement corrective actions utilizing a methodical approach (DMAIC) to root cause and continuous improvement.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree required, Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial or Mfg Engineering preferred.

10+ years of Quality Engineering or Management experience in a regulated manufacturing environment. Printed circuit board experience is a plus but not required.

5+ years of direct people management.

Knowledge of IPC-6012 and IPC-A-600 desired.

Demonstrated experience working directly with customers to resolve concerns, conduct audits and host visits.

Understanding of ISO 9001:2015, AS9100, TL-9000, ISO-14385, ISO-14001, MIL-PRF-31032 or similar standards with demonstrated success in passing certification audits.

Expert level knowledge of root cause analysis techniques and corrective action.

Hands on experience working with suppliers to improve quality.

Knowledge of lean principles (Green or Black belt certification a plus).

Knowledge and experience in the application of statistical process control.

Demonstrated experience leading diverse teams in a dynamic environment required.

Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills required.

Open-minded self-starter with the ability to adapt, improvise and problem solve, as well manage multiple tasks and projects and concisely explain complex issues supported with data.

Excellent analytical abilities and comprehensive understanding of quality toolbox (SPC, 8D, FMEA, Control Plans, etc.).

Salary Range (annual): $140,000 - $165,000

Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package. The total rewards package also includes a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business and, depending on the role, may include eligibility for restricted stock unit awards and participation in a discretionary bonus program.

Job Purpose

The PCB Fabrication business is currently based out of facilities in US (San Jose & Costa Mesa), Singapore & China (Wuxi) and provides a wide range of complex PCBs for the world’s leading manufacturers within very diversified market sectors like Aerospace & Defense, AI & Centers, Automotive, Industrial to name a few.

Nature Of Duties / Responsibilities

The scope of the job is global spanning Sanmina's PCB manufacturing facilities in Asia and North America.
Define & develop Commodity Sourcing Strategy for PCB Raw Materials (Laminates, Prepregs, Copper Foils) & Mfg Supplies (Chemicals, Inks, Drills).
Develop and manage executive level engagement and relationships with existing strategic suppliers as per business needs, technology roadmap and footprint of operations.
Assess the capability gaps in existing supply chains and identify & develop new suppliers to bridge those.
Own the supplier selection, commercials including pricing & business awards (sourcing) throughout multiple stages of business engagement viz. RFQ, NPI & Mass Pro, in case of new & existing customers.
Remain engaged closely with quote and operations teams to provide them necessary guidance & direction.
Ensure compliance of contracts & agreements e.g. NDA, PA, VMI etc. with the suppliers.
Conduct periodic business review with management of strategic suppliers for strengthening engagement, enhancing cost competitiveness & driving favorable terms.
Periodically gather, develop and share Procurement Intelligence on Market, Supply, Pricing aspects of PCB Materials and Mfg Supplies with Internal stakeholders.
Depending upon the nature & severity of escalations on supplier, support the internal stakeholders to resolve it.
Experience in working in EMS, ODM &/or Tier 1 PCB manufacturing environment in North America &/or Europe with exposure to various markets viz. Silicon, Industrial, Defense & Aerospace, Automotive & Telecommunications.
Excellent communication (written & spoken) skills in English. Being multilingual will be an advantage.
Being able to think and act strategically and yet is able to demonstrate excellent tactical acumen in case of routine activities & escalations.
Excellent skills in using MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word ).

Education and Experience

A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering, Material Science, or Electronics Engineering is essential.
15-20 Yrs experience in Commodity Management of PCB &/or PCB Raw Materials at Regional (Americas) &/or Global level is a must.
A very good knowledge of the PCB manufacturing process is very important as is an ability to “speak the language” and “connect” up, down, inside and outside the organization.
Experience in customer facing role is an added advantage.
Experience in working in EMS, ODM &/or Tier 1 PCB manufacturing environment in North America &/or Europe with exposure to various markets viz. Silicon, Industrial, Defense & Aerospace, Automotive & Telecommunications.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range (annual): $148,000.00 - $210,000.00

Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package. The total rewards package also includes a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business and, depending on the role, may include eligibility for restricted stock unit awards and participation in a discretionary bonus program.

Business Unit Description:

The Metal Fabrication, Backplanes, Machining & Energy business is currently based out of facilities in US (Fremont, Newark, Austin & Houston) & Mexico (Guadalajara & Monterey) with potential expansion in EU. It provides a wide range of complex assemblies & enclosures for world’s leading manufacturers within very diversified market sectors like Aerospace & Defense, AI & Data Centers, Automotive, Industrial to name a few.

Responsibilities:

Starting with the foundations of the company’s existing business relationships with Global Metals SC Ecosystem, work with the SC & Operations leadership team to drive excellent business results through sound, innovative supply chain solutions, strategic supplier relationships, thorough understanding of technology roadmap, excellent commercial acumen and problem solving skills.

Specific responsibilities will include:

Data Centre, Cloud & Communications, Semi-Con, Industrial, Defense & Aerospace, Automotive & Healthcare.
Excellent communication (written & spoken) skills in English.
Being able to think and act strategically and yet is able to demonstrate excellent tactical acumen in case of routine activities & escalations.
Excellent skills in using MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word).
Exposure to ERP environment is a must. Experience on Oracle will be an added advantage.

Educational and Industry Background:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering, Material Science, or Industrial Engineering is essential.
