The Video Production & Content Creator is responsible for capturing, producing, and editing compelling video and digital content that brings the team's brand to life. This role plays a key part in storytelling across social media, digital platforms, in-venue experiences, and marketing campaigns. The ideal candidate is creative, fast-paced, detail-oriented, and thrives in a live sports environment. The role is seasonal and will run from February to October 2026.

Key Responsibilities

Capture high-quality video content at games, community events, and team activations
Film cinematic highlights, behind-the-scenes moments, player features, hype videos, and branded content
Edit video content for multiple platforms, including social media, website, email, and in-venue displays

Social & Digital Content

Create short-form and long-form videos optimized for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, and Facebook
Collaborate with the social media team on content planning, trends, and real-time coverage
Maintain brand voice, visual identity, and storytelling standards

Creative Collaboration

Work closely with marketing, partnerships, and communications teams to support campaigns and initiatives
Collaborate with players, coaches, and staff to capture authentic content
Assist with sponsored content and branded storytelling

Game Day & Event Coverage

Provide live or near-real-time content during games and events
Work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays during the season

Asset Management

Organize, archive, and manage media files and creative assets
Maintain and care for video, photo, and audio equipment

Qualifications & Skills

Required

Experience in videography, video editing, or content creation (sports experience preferred)
Strong proficiency with editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, etc.)
Understanding of social media trends and digital storytelling
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Willingness to work non-traditional hours

Preferred

Experience working for a sports team, league, or athletic department
Knowledge of motion graphics, animation, or drone operation
Experience with DSLR or mirrorless cameras
Passion for sports and fan engagement

Internship Information:

Opportunity to Earn College Credit (dependent on school approval)
Access to professional-level baseball operations and social media production
Ability to produce content to numerous networks (IG, FB, X, TikTok, YT)
Networking opportunities with NECBL coaches, players, league officials, and MLB staff

Responsibilities:

Serve as a creative team videographer for all home and away games (44+) throughout the NECBL season.
Create social media strategy and cohesive designs with the graphic design intern.
Assist in the setup and teardown of all media equipment
Coordinate with the creative & broadcast teams to promote key storylines
Contribute to recaps and media as needed for the team website
Support the Assistant Director of Creative with additional tasks
Have the freedom to work on a personal project throughout the season (portfolio builder, etc.).

Requirements:

Currently enrolled in a Communications, Journalism, Sports Media, or related major
Willingness and flexibility to attend online pre-season NECBL and team meetings and league training sessions
Possess leadership qualities with the ability to collaborate and guide other team members in a professional environment
Demonstrated self-motivation, organization, and attention to detail
Ability to problem-solve quickly and remain calm under pressure
Capable of multitasking in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Baseball knowledge or prior live-upload experience strongly preferred

The Sioux Falls Canaries are offering a full-time internship for motivated students eager to gain hands-on experience in independent baseball. This unique opportunity allows you to work behind the scenes with a professional sports organization with the American Association of Professional Baseball, an MLB partner league. Throughout this seasonal, full-time position you'll support our mission to provide a first-class experience and deliver exceptional guest service while supporting our marketing and media efforts.

Position Summary:
As the Multimedia Intern, you will join the Sioux Falls Canaries for a dynamic summer, gaining behind-the-scenes experience in professional baseball media operations. The primary roles of this internship are photography, videography, and graphic design. This role will also assist with in-game content creation and social media management. Ideal candidates are proficient in photography and videography, creative, strong communicators, and adaptable to the fast-paced environment of a baseball season. This internship requires a minimum commitment of 30 hours per week in the office and participation in all 50 home games and assigned non-baseball events. This is a full-time, paid position beginning May 11th until the end of the Canaries season (mid-September) and will report to the Director of Marketing and Game Experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Video Production: Edit and produce highlight reels, sponsored in-game content, and recap videos to promote upcoming games and events.
Photography: Capture high quality photos of in-game activities on and off the field.
Graphic Design: Create promotional graphics and digital content for use on team websites and social media platforms, ensuring a cohesive look and feel.
Content Creation: Produce engaging social media graphics and videos that capture the spirit of the Canaries, including game announcements, promotional events, and highlights from home games.
Event Coverage: Attend and document all home games and special events through photography and videography, showcasing players, fans, and the overall stadium atmosphere.
Social Media Management: Assist in growing the Canaries' social media presence by posting content, promoting upcoming games, and engaging with fans across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.).
Community Engagement: Capture content from community events to highlight the Canaries' involvement in Sioux Falls.
Additional Duties: Support the marketing and media team with various tasks as assigned.

Key Projects:

In addition to the daily tasks the multimedia intern will create two final videos (Thank You Fans & Season Recap) that should be worked on throughout the entirety of the summer.
- Thank You Fans:
  - Using videos of players and staff to thank the fans that come out to each game.
  - Using key audio from the season from the broadcast.
  - Using key videos of plays, swings, celebrations of players.
  - Using key videos of fan entertainment and celebrations in the stands.
- Season Recap:
  - Using key audio from the season from the broadcast.
  - Using key videos of plays, swings, celebrations of players.
  - Using key videos of fan entertainment and celebrations in the stands.

Qualifications:

Proficiency in sports photography and video production required.
Proficiency in graphic design and editing software required
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and organized.
Familiarity with social media platforms and trends.
Creativity and a passion for sports.
