Position Summary\nThe Process Piping Estimator for our Advanced Technologies division will provide and/or coordinate all estimating services necessary to procure Process Piping / Mechanical projects. Critical to this role is a focus on accuracy, thoroughness, and profitability. This position is responsible for cultivating relationships with the Estimating Departments within our targeted community of General Contractors. If you have estimating experience in industrial / commercial construction, preferably in the biopharmaceutical and/or semiconductor sectors, this may be the role for you!\nLocation:

To be based out of one of the following offices:\nSan Leandro, CA (NorCal HQ)\nCypress, CA (Company HQ); or\nChandler, AZ\nKey Responsibilities\nRegularly contact the Pre-Construction Departments of our targeted community of General Contractors to identify opportunities.\nEvaluate opportunities to ensure we pursue projects with the best opportunity for success; are consistent with our business model; exploit our competitive advantages and can contribute margins consistent with the business plan.\nReview all plans, P&ID’s, specifications, and contracts prior to preparing the estimate to ensure any impacts on the work are identified.\nLearn and operate a computer based take off and estimating system that can provide reproducible results.\nCoordinate drawings, scopes and POCs with other trades\nPrepare RFIs for projects bidding\nSolicit pricing from vendors/subcontractors\nPrepare recaps, general conditions, schedule and letters for project\nRun job reports in preparation for bid review with Estimating Manager\nAssist in selling the project, including but not limited to developing a scope of supply; presentations if required; entertaining; negotiating and closing.\nParticipate in the kickoff meeting; presenting the scope of work, work plan, budget, unusual requirements and any critical limitations on the scope of our work.\nAssist in productivity tracking of labor units.\nParticipate in the daily staff meetings for the purposes of identifying any scope deviations, monitoring production and forecasting future work.

Assist with developing alternate plans to recover projects where actual performance is not meeting budgeted plan.\nQualifications\nRequired\n3+ years in estimating large-scale construction projects related to high-purity process piping.\nProficiency in related estimating software (FastPIPE / FastDUCT, Trimble Autobid, Bluebeam, QuickPen, etc.)\nComputer proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel.\nPreferred\nDeep experience in semiconductor and/or biopharmaceutical construction projects.\nField, craft, or piping trade experience, or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.\nUnderstanding of adjacent piping systems (plumbing, HVAC, etc.).\nPhysical Requirements\nProlonged periods of sitting at a desk.\nMust be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.\nMust have sufficient to read printed and digital documents.\nMust be able to climb ladders, access and egress trenches and/or attic spaces and/or confined spaces.\nRequires hearing ability to communicate in noisy environments.\nMust be able to recognize alarms, signals, and verbal instructions.\nMust be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.\nAbility to grasp, handle, and manipulate small objects.\nCompensation\nSan Leandro: $105,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year\nCypress & Chandler: $85,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year

Cypress, CA . This role is responsible for preparing and coordinating precise and profitable estimates for Process Piping / Mechanical projects, while maintaining strong relationships with General Contractors’ Estimating Departments. Experience in industrial or commercial construction, particularly in biopharmaceutical or semiconductor sectors, is highly desirable.\nDuties & Responsibilities\nBusiness Development & Opportunity Assessment • Connect with Pre-Construction Departments of targeted General Contractors to identify potential projects. • Evaluate project opportunities to ensure alignment with company goals, competitive advantages, and profitability targets.

Estimating & Project Preparation • Review drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and contracts to identify any impacts on scope or cost. • Utilize estimating software and computer-based takeoff systems to create accurate and consistent estimates. • Coordinate drawings, scopes, and points of contact with other trades. • Prepare RFIs, request vendor and subcontractor pricing, and develop project recaps, schedules, and letters. • Produce reports to support bid review meetings with the Estimating Manager.

Project Support & Tracking • Assist in selling projects through scope development, presentations, and negotiations. • Participate in project kickoff meetings, presenting scope, work plans, budgets, and any limitations. • Track labor productivity units and monitor project performance against estimates. • Attend daily staff meetings to discuss scope changes, production updates, and implement corrective plans as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements\nRequired • 3+ years estimating industrial or commercial construction projects involving high-purity process piping. • Proficiency with estimating software such as FastPIPE / FastDUCT, Trimble Autobid, Bluebeam, or QuickPen. • Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel.

Preferred • Experience with semiconductor and/or biopharmaceutical construction. • Field, craft, or piping trade experience, or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. • Familiarity with related piping systems including plumbing and HVAC.

Physical Requirements • Ability to sit for extended periods at a desk. • Capacity to lift items up to 15 pounds occasionally. • Adequate vision to read printed and digital materials. • Ability to climb ladders and access trenches, attics, or confined spaces. • Hearing sufficient to communicate in noisy environments; ability to recognize alarms and instructions. • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed. • Dexterity to handle small objects and tools.
