Specifically, the incumbent will assist the V‑TOP team in promoting the program efforts across Virginia‑based institutions and employers.\n\nRole & Responsibilities\n\nIn collaboration with the V‑TOP team, the Public Relations and Marketing Specialist (Temp) will:\n\nCreate marketing materials (print, digital, and multimedia) for the V‑TOP initiative and regional partners, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines.\n\nSupport newsletter production by drafting content, editing submissions, and managing distribution schedules.\n\nAssist with social media management, including content creation, scheduling, posting, and responding to engagement across platforms.\n\nSupport marketing campaigns and promotional activities for V‑TOP signature events such as Virginia Intern Day, regional showcases, and statewide initiatives.\n\nMonitor and update the website, ensuring accurate and current content, event information, and resources.\n\nWrite press releases, news articles, and feature stories highlighting program milestones, success stories, and stakeholder engagement.\n\nConduct interviews with students, employers, and partners to capture stories and testimonials.\n\nGather information from stakeholders about V‑TOP activities, outcomes, and events for use in marketing and reporting.\n\nCreate event collateral such as programs, signage, banners, and digital promotions.\n\nCoordinate with regional teams to gather photos, videos, and other media for campaigns and archives.\n\nMaintain a photo and video library for marketing and communications use.\n\nTrack media coverage and provide regular performance reports on communications.\n\nEnsure consistent branding and messaging across all platforms and materials.\n\nAssist with managing the activities of the external marketing firm support.\n\nAssist with virtual and in‑person event support, including live social media coverage, photography, and video.\n\nCollaborate on new marketing ideas to increase visibility, reach, and stakeholder engagement.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nA minimum of 3‑5 years of experience in marketing, website development and management, digital marketing, and advertising.\n\nAt least 3‑5 years of experience in applying public relations and marketing principles within an organization.\n\nExperience in publishing communications to internal and external audiences including press releases and social media campaigns.\n\nAdvanced proficiency in WordPress, Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.\n\nProficiency in social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube) and best practices.\n\nExcellent attention to detail.\n\nSpecial Requirements\n\nThis position requires a self‑starter who is flexible and capable of supporting the V‑TOP team in marketing and promoting various facets of the Virginia Talent + Opportunity Partnership.\n\nINSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLICANTS\nCover letter and resume are required.
