The Department of ePMO-Performance Excellence is seeking a full-time, on-site

Data Visualization Specialist

in Miami who can turn complex data into clear, compelling visual stories for executive audiences. This is

not a technical developer or coding

role ; we are looking for a communicator and designer-someone skilled in presentation design, visual storytelling, and executive communication. The role focuses on creating high-impact PowerPoint presentations and dashboards that communicate insights to the Board of Trustees, President, C-suite, and cross-functional leadership teams.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS Create executive-ready presentations for the Board of Trustees, President, and C-suite that clearly convey key metrics and strategic priorities. Design visual narratives that connect data to institutional goals and decision-making needs. Build and refine presentations in PowerPoint and modern tools (e.g., Beautiful.ai, Prezi, Canva, Pitch). Develop and maintain templates, style guides, and visual assets to ensure brand-aligned, accessible presentations. Translate complex information into concise, high-impact visuals under tight deadlines. Collaborate with senior leaders and subject-matter experts to understand data needs and tailor visual outputs accordingly. Ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency in all executive-facing materials. Stay current with data visualization best practices, accessibility standards, and design trends. Adhere to University and unit-level policies, safeguarding institutional data and assets. CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelor's degree in communications, design, business, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience:

Minimum 3 years creating presentations and visual narratives for executive or Board-level audiences. Advanced skills in PowerPoint and at least one modern presentation tool (e.g., Beautiful.ai, Prezi, Canva, Pitch). Portfolio demonstrating executive-facing presentations and visual storytelling. Experience in higher education operations, strategic planning, or institutional reporting. Familiarity with board or leadership platforms (e.g., OnBoard, BoardEffect, Diligent). Knowledge of data visualization best practices, color theory, and accessibility standards. Preferred Qualifications:

Develop executive-ready PowerPoint presentations for Board committees and leadership meetings. Design and update dashboards and visual reports tracking clinical, operational, academic, and financial KPIs. Synthesize complex data sets into summary visuals and talking points tailored for executive audiences. Maintain standardized visual frameworks to ensure brand consistency and accessibility. Ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with institutional data governance.

Clarifying Fit

This role is ideal for candidates whose strengths are

storytelling, presentation design, and executive communication -not coding or software development. Candidates whose primary experience is in

Python, R, SQL, statistical modeling, or data engineering

will not be a match for this position.
