Director of Sales – Roofing
Charlotte, NC | Executive Leadership | $120K–$180K OTE
This is not a VP-in-name-only role.
This is ownership of the sales engine.
The Company Northline Roofing is a Charlotte-based residential roofing company currently producing $4–5M annually and scaling toward $10M+.
We are in the build phase.
Systems are improving.
Infrastructure is being built.
Standards are rising.
We are not a polished corporate machine — and that is intentional.
We are hiring a Director of Sales to build, lead, and scale the entire sales function as we prepare for multi-market expansion over the next 24–36 months.
The Role This is a senior leadership role — but it is not a sit-back-and-manage role.
You will be hands-on.
You will ride along with reps.
You will fix broken pipeline.
You will tighten pricing discipline.
You will confront underperformance.
You will build process where process doesn’t yet exist.
You must be comfortable being direct.
You must be comfortable making decisions.
You must be comfortable raising standards.
We need someone scrappy enough to operate inside a growth-stage company and structured enough to build something scalable.
What You Own
Full responsibility for team revenue and margin
Sales forecasting and production targets
Hiring, onboarding, and developing reps
Training systems and scripts
Pricing discipline and deal structure
Pipeline integrity and reporting
Accountability standards
Clean handoffs to operations
You are responsible for building a repeatable, disciplined sales machine — not being the hero closer.
What Success Looks Like (12 Months)
Team producing $6M+ in collected revenue (owner excluded)
Margin standards consistently enforced
Predictable monthly forecasting
New reps ramped efficiently
Owner fully removed from sales coaching and pricing
Who This Role Is For You likely:
Have 8–15+ years in home services sales (Roofing, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Windows)
Have led teams responsible for $5–20M in revenue
Have built or rebuilt a sales system
Are comfortable enforcing pricing discipline
Can coach and confront adults without hesitation
Have operated inside a startup or high-growth environment
You understand that growth without process creates chaos — and you know how to fix it.
Who This Role Is Not For
Someone who needs to carry a personal book
Someone who avoids hard conversations
Someone who prefers corporate layers over speed
Someone who waits for perfect systems
Compensation Base: $85K–$105K
OTE: $120K–$180K
Performance-based upside tied to:
Team collected revenue
Margin discipline
Forecast accuracy
Rep development and retention
Bonuses are gated by execution — not just volume.
Why This Is Different
Clear authority
Direct access to ownership
Ability to build the system, not inherit one
Path toward multi-market leadership
This is a build role.
If you want comfort, this is not it.
If you want to build something real and scalable, this might be.
Embrace The Climb.
