Position Overview We're looking for a results‑driven Business Development Representative focused on generating demand among solar installers and building a robust pipeline of project opportunities across Puerto Rico. Working closely with our Regional Sales Manager and Pre‑Sales Technical Engineer, you'll identify prospects, qualify leads, and drive adoption of GoodWe solutions at the project level. This is a 1099 independent contractor position offering flexibility and unlimited earning potential for self‑motivated sales professionals.
Key Responsibilities Identify and qualify solar installers, EPC contractors, and integrators throughout Puerto Rico through grassroots prospecting and networking
Generate qualified leads through direct outreach, phone calls, field visits, and industry connections
Set and hold meetings with qualified contractors to introduce GoodWe solutions
Build and maintain a robust pipeline of installer prospects and project opportunities
Track all lead generation activities and pipeline development in CRM
Contractor Onboarding & Support Onboard new installers to GoodWe products and connect them with authorized distributors
Guide contractors through the process of purchasing GoodWe products from distribution partners
Educate installers on product features, technical specifications, and competitive advantages
Support contractor experience throughout their relationship with GoodWe
Serve as ongoing point of contact for installer questions and needs
Facilitate connections between installers and distribution channels
Demand Generation & Market Development Drive awareness and adoption of GoodWe inverters and energy storage solutions among installers
Conduct discovery meetings to understand installer needs and project requirements
Identify project‑level opportunities and gather technical specifications
Follow up consistently to move prospects through the adoption funnel
Build trust and credibility within the installer community
Partner closely with Regional Sales Manager to prioritize opportunities and support deals
Coordinate with Pre‑Sales Technical Engineer for technical demonstrations and specifications
Provide market intelligence on installer feedback, competitive activity, and market trends
Participate in team meetings to review pipeline, strategy, and market conditions
Support the sales process from lead generation through installer adoption
Market Presence Attend local industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to build relationships
Represent GoodWe at installer meetings and training sessions
Conduct field visits to meet contractors in person and build rapport
Stay current on Puerto Rico solar market trends, regulations, and incentive programs
Build deep relationships within the Puerto Rico solar community
Required Qualifications Must be located in Puerto Rico (required)
Bilingual: Fluent in English and Spanish (required)
1‑3 years of experience in sales, lead generation, customer service, or business development
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Strong understanding of Puerto Rico's business landscape and culture
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to build rapport quickly
Comfortable with field‑based prospecting and relationship building
Ability to set, manage, and hold meetings with contractors
Proficiency with basic technology and willingness to learn CRM systems
Self‑motivated with ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Persistent, resilient, and goal‑oriented mindset
Preferred Qualifications Experience in B2B lead generation, channel support, or field sales
Familiarity with the solar energy, renewable energy, or construction industry
Existing relationships within Puerto Rico's solar installer community
Understanding of solar PV systems and energy storage concepts
Experience working with distribution channels or indirect sales models
Associate's degree or coursework in Business, Renewable Energy, or related field
Commission‑based compensation structure with uncapped earning potential
