
Overview
This role focuses on outbound sales engagement within the school market. Representatives will reengage past customers, activate dormant accounts, and cultivate new opportunities. Success comes through consistent outreach, strong relationship building, and effective communication of company products and promotions.
Primary Responsibilities Sales Outreach and Account Engagement
Conduct outbound sales calls to an assigned account list including active customers, dormant accounts, and potential prospects.
Present and sell company products, services, and promotions via phone and email.
Prioritize accounts with prior purchase history and drive reengagement.
Utilize talk tracks and scripts to guide conversations.
Manage all communication through the CRM, including follow up on leads.
Relationship Development
Build strong personal and business relationships with decision makers across schools, districts, and purchasing groups.
Gather key information from school purchasing departments, nurses, sports leaders, and other stakeholders.
Bring in senior sales partners when in‑person meetings or escalations are required.
Account Growth and Revenue Support
Maximize growth within assigned accounts by identifying upsell opportunities and promoting relevant products and promotions.
Work with the bids and quotes team to support transactional sales needs.
Engage internal resources to resolve issues and implement customer solutions.
Drive increased awareness and engagement to encourage customers to purchase from them again.
Collaboration and Teamwork
Work closely with assigned team members to achieve shared goals.
Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
Participate in occasional overnight travel or weekend conferences as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Role Structure and Book of Business
Approximately 12,000 accounts divided across the sales team.
Focus on single schools or small districts.
Outreach is primarily phone and email based from the office.
Conversations are transactional in nature.
Most prospects are familiar with the company.
Performance Expectations (KPIs)
75 outbound calls per day.
2 hours of daily customer talk time.
Successful conversion of prospects into active customers.
Revenue growth and account performance will be evaluated over time.
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's or Associate's Degree.
At least one internship or job experience after graduation, ideally within the past two years.
Strong communication skills.
Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce.com) and Microsoft Office suite.
Customer service and sales support experience.
Soft Skills
Interest in a sales career.
Outgoing and friendly personality.
Comfortable being on the phone and making outbound calls.
Ability to handle rejection and hearing “NO” often from customers.
