Assistant Golf Professional

The Assistant Golf Professional at a Thompson Golf Group property is responsible and accountable for the daily operations of the golf shop staff, guest service staff, and coordinates with the Head Golf Professional to provide an exceptional golf experience in line with our Thompson Golf Group way. This includes the development and management of golf team members, maximizing the tee sheet, merchandising, building golf programs, and increasing rounds sold. Essential responsibilities include mentoring the development of staff in all areas, ensuring excellent guest experience, managing and overseeing internal events for members, assisting the sales team in coordinating external golf events, managing and maintaining inventory and merchandise in the Golf Shop, working with HR to recruit, hire, and train Guest Service team members, ensuring a proper safe work environment, understanding and valuing individual growth and development, leading by example, holding all team members accountable for their areas of responsibility, maintaining open lines of communication between the golf shop staff and golf maintenance staff, supervising and managing facility tee sheets to maximize play, maintaining open and honest communication with team members, leadership, and customers, and being professional in every interaction. Requirements include experience required, positive and proactive supervisory, leadership, management, and coaching skills, good communication skills, both written and verbal, general knowledge of ordering/purchasing and inventory control, ability to multitask while remaining focused on the key objectives of the position, proficient in computer skills to include Microsoft Office programs, e-mail, Internet, and tee sheet systems, must be comfortable and willing to "roll up sleeves" and lead by positive example, must be willing to grow and be challenged, ability to work within established guidelines and standards, ensuring brand consistency for Thompson Golf Group, high school diploma or equivalent, class A-8 PGA Membership preferred, and ability to work weekends and holidays, mornings and evenings as business demands.
