Position: Donor Relations Manager
Reports to: Development Director
Status: Full time; Salary $55,000 - $60,000
Position Summary
Focus on building and maintaining strong relationships with the individuals and businesses who support our work. The role is responsible for managing donor relationships, ensuring consistent follow-up, coordinating stewardship efforts, and helping donors stay connected to the mission.
Works closely with the Development Director and the fundraising team to support long-term donor engagement and retention. Effectively execute all job duties listed, manage unexpected events, and effectively communicate the store goals with planning, direction and training.
Uphold core values in all actions and processes while embodying the mission of Saint Vincent de Paul. The enthusiasm and culture of SVdP must be lived and communicated throughout the store, staff, volunteers and community.
This is a relationship-focused position, not an event planning role.
Responsibilities as a leader
Donor Relationship Management
Manage a portfolio of assigned donors
Conduct regular outreach through phone calls, emails, and in-person meetings
Build and maintain strong working relationships with donors
Ensure consistent follow-up after gifts and meetings
Stewardship & Engagement
Ensure timely acknowledgement of gifts
Coordinate donor invitations to tours, gatherings, and mission-focused
Help track donor engagement and follow-through
Support cultivation efforts led by the Development Director
Work with the development and marketing team to ensure donors receive accurate and timely information
Communicate donor needs and upcoming engagement priorities internally
Stay informed about programs and initiatives in order to represent the organization clearly
CRM & Reporting
Maintain accurate donor records in the CRM
Document meetings and interactions
Monitor donor activity and support retention efforts
Physical Requirements
Long, extended periods of sitting while using the computer
Regularly lifting and moving objects up to 50 lbs
Frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling to set up events if needed
High level of manual dexterity for typing, filing and operating office equipment
Must be available on weekends; 40+ hours weekly
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Professional experience in fundraising, relationship management, sales, client service, or similar field
Strong interpersonal skills and professional presence
Ability to build trust and maintain relationships
Organized and detail oriented
Comfortable meeting with donors and representing the organization
