About The Employer
Our client is a premier, full-service landscape design and build firm based in the Metro West Boston area (Sudbury/Wayland), with over four decades of history serving high-end residential properties. Renowned for their "white glove" service and comprehensive approach, they offer stability and resources rarely found in the industry, including specialized in-house divisions for Tree Care, Irrigation, and Plant Health Care. This is a collaborative, forward-thinking organization where creativity meets craftsmanship, offering a supportive environment for professionals to build a long-term career. About The Position
This is a commission-forward, performance-driven role designed for a professional who thrives at the intersection of creativity and sales. Reporting to the Design-Build Manager, you will take ownership of the full project lifecycle—from the first client consultation to the final signed contract. While the primary search is for a Senior-level designer capable of commanding a room and closing six-figure deals, the team is open to hiring a talented, less experienced designer with strong sales aptitude and a drive to grow into the role. Responsibilities
Drive Sales & Revenue: Manage the entire sales pipeline for high-value residential projects (ranging from $25k to $1M+), qualifying leads and turning visions into signed agreements. Create Compelling Designs: Utilize Vectorworks and Lumion to produce high-quality 2D plans and immersive 3D renderings that captivate clients. Client Consultation: Lead on-site consultations with confidence, serving as a trusted advisor to homeowners and navigating budget discussions with professional clarity. Project Estimation: Collaborate with the production team to build accurate estimates and proposals, balancing creative vision with construction feasibility. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with installation teams and internal divisions (Irrigation, Tree, etc.) to ensure design intent is executed flawlessly. CRM Management: Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, and communications within the company’s CRM (Aspire/Dynascape) to forecast sales activity. Requirements
Experience: 5+ years of residential landscape design and sales experience is preferred; however, candidates with less experience but exceptional talent and sales potential are encouraged to apply. Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Vectorworks and Lumion is highly preferred; experience with CRM and estimating software (Aspire, Dynascape Manage 360) is a plus. Sales Acumen: A proven track record of closing sales or a strong desire to drive revenue is essential—this is not a passive design role. Construction Knowledge: Understanding of New England residential construction methods, materials, and local horticulture. Communication Skills: Excellent presentation and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with demanding, high-net-worth clientele. Education: A degree in Landscape Architecture, Design, or Horticulture is preferred. Salary: $68,000 – $100,000 Base Salary (Dependent on experience). Commission: Aggressive commission structure on sold projects. Retirement: 401(k) with immediate company match. Healthcare: Comprehensive Health, Dental, and Vision insurance. Work-Life Balance: No snow removal duties required; designers focus on design and sales year-round. Additional Perks: FSA, HRA, PTO, and Paid Holidays.
