
Junior Underwriter, Group Medical
True Benefit, an Amwins Group Company, is conducting a candidate search for a Junior Underwriter, specializing in the health insurance industry, to add to their growing team in Branford, CT (near New Haven) or Farmington, CT (near Hartford). This position will be a hybrid work arrangement.

Position Overview If you have a proven ability to assess situations quickly, apply established protocols, and work well with others, we want you on our team. We are looking for a detail oriented, critical thinker who takes initiative and works consultatively with others. This person will work efficiently and effectively to meet contracted turnaround times when assessing risk on group medical health insurance prospective clients. We look to our analysts to be the best in the business, both analytically and in their ability to communicate their findings.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Apply risk management principles to provide preparation of rate quotations, product and benefit recommendations, with a focus on evaluating group medical health insurance risk and supporting appropriate premium development within established underwriting and pricing guidelines.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the sales organization and health insurance carrier partners by providing timely, accurate, and reliable analytical support.
Actively build industry and product knowledge and support the sales team by learning and communicating foundational pricing concepts, underwriting principles, and market trends.
Support departmental initiatives focused on improving processes, procedures, and best practices to enhance efficiency, consistency, and service delivery.
Perform analytical and data-driven reviews using standard productivity and analytical tools to evaluate historical performance, identify trends, and assist in uncovering opportunities for improvement.

Connecticut Pay Range:
$58,000 USD - $65,000 USD
