What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
Manage a caseload of litigated and non-litigated construction defect claims under commercial general liability policies
Conduct investigations and analyze information to make coverage determinations
Set expense and indemnity reserves within authority levels and monitor for adjustments
Develop and implement resolution strategies for high-quality outcomes
Prepare reports and presentations on case developments and industry trends for senior leadership
What is Required (Qualifications):
Bachelor’s degree preferred; law degree a plus or commensurate experience
Minimum of seven years handling complex litigated construction defect and property damage matters
Superior analytical ability and organizational skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong ability to analyze coverage and liability issues, manage time limits, and assess complex exposures
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
Familiarity with owner and contractor controlled insurance policies and programs
Excellent strategic thinking and execution skills
Advanced technical claim handling skills, including knowledge of coverage and tort laws
Ability to influence and persuade others effectively
Proven track record of exceeding expectations in a professional setting
