About The Role Summary The Consumer Lender II originates a high volume of consumer loans and manages the entire loan origination process. Underwrites loans, analyzes financials, and has strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Provides support to the Consumer Loan Manager on loan functions from start to finish throughout the process. This role will have extensive contact with customers, vendors, the public, and bank staff and will interact in a professional and courteous manner and conduct him/herself in such a relationship in a manner that will enhance the overall efficiency and image of the bank.

Compensation: Starting pay is $34.42 to $41.32 per hour. All compensation offers are analyzed individually and take into consideration geographic location, years of experience, and educational background.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Well versed with HELOC's, RE Term Loans, Personal Loans, Personal Lines of credit and Auto Loans.

Primary focus is underwriting HELOC's in LOS system with a secondary focus on all other consumer products. Underwrites subordination, extensions and change in term requests which meet established lending requirements and provide maximum profitability to the company with a minimum of risk. Approve, decline, or counteroffer loan applications within set lending authority.

Gathers financial information for underwriting, prepares personal cashflow worksheets, provides information to generate loan disclosures/documentation, evaluates repayment ability, collateral adequacy, analyzes credit reports and confirms documentation requirements are met.

Understands complex self‑employed income, ability to read and understand individual and business tax returns, audited or reviewed financial statements, and company prepared profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and statement of cash flows and completes loan servicing activities.

Responsible for communication of loan decisions including the ability to discuss loan denials, loan alternatives and rate computation in a clear, concise, and courteous manner.

Identify and develop potential new customer relationships. Maintain and develop an ongoing relationship with current customer base. Continuously project an image of professional and concern in dealings with the public by providing superior and external customer service.

Meet or exceed loan production goal as set annually by manager in conjunction with goals set for Collegiate Peaks Bank.

Respond to customer inquiries, conduct application interviews, occasionally conduct loan closing. Order and review initial loan disclosures, loan documents, title work and insurance coverage for accuracy.

Work closely with Personal Bankers to properly document and maintain loan and collateral files.

Attend loan committee as required, with ability to provide structural feedback to the committee.

Complete loan monitoring through tracking loan maturities, prepare needs list and communicate with borrowers to obtain timely collection of financial information.

Monitor past‑due loan report and assist with collection efforts.

Register with NMLS and maintain registration per SAFE Act requirements.

Ensure compliance with company standards and practices, State and Federal rules and regulations as applicable to the position, including, but not limited to BSA/AML, ECOA/Reg B, HMDA, CRA, FHLB, OFAC, and GLBA/privacy rules.

Participate in Community and Bank-sponsored activities that serve and support the mission and values of CPB.

About You QUALIFICATIONS

Three to five years experience as a lender and underwriting as a consumer lender.

Three to five years of banking experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY

High level computer skill with working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, ten‑key and general computer applications.

Ability to apply logical or critical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions.

Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with others in a clear, thorough and timely manner.

Demonstrate a high level of organization, ability to prioritize and multi‑task with attention to detail and accuracy, manage multiple projects, demonstrate self‑motivation and ability to follow through with tasks.

Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others; work to develop and maintain cooperative and positive working relationships; represent the bank in a positive manner and maintain credibility with others.

WORK ENVIRONMENT Work performed in an office environment. Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate‑controlled shared work area with minimal noise.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to sit; use hands in repetitive motions to finger, grasp, handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and lift or reach with hands and arms. The employee may also be required to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles and calculators. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance and may be required to work extended hours or travel off‑site whenever required or requested by management.

Specific lifting abilities required: employee must be able to lift or reach with hands and arms as required by the role. Specific vision abilities required: close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at close distances.
