Required Qualifications
8+ years of professional PCB layout experience on complex designs
Experienced working in spacecraft, aerospace, or defense industries
Experience with high layer count PCB layouts and high-speed interfaces
Power electronics and PDN design experience
Knowledge of IPC standards
Proficiency with Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, Mentor Xpedition, or equivalent
Solid understanding of signal and power integrity
Ability to work from detailed schematics and interface effectively with electrical designer
Responsibilities A small company located in Longmont, CO is looking for a strong Senior PCB Layout Engineer. This company specializes in developing high‑assurance space electronics by adapting cutting‑edge commercial technologies including electronics, photonics, robotics, and software for reliable operation in the space environment. We are seeking an experienced PCB Layout Engineer to design and release complex, high‑reliability electronic assemblies for civil, DoD, and commercial space applications. In this role, you will perform advanced PCB layout for high‑speed digital, mixed‑signal, and power electronics designs, including multi‑lamination boards up to 24+ layers, in compliance with IPC‑6012 and related standards. You will translate schematics, stackups, and design constraints into manufacturable layouts while executing controlled impedance routing, differential pairs, length matching, and via optimization. The position requires close collaboration with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers to address signal integrity, power integrity, EMI/EMC, and enclosure integration. You will support DFM/DFA reviews, generate complete manufacturing release packages, and contribute to design reviews with layout‑specific risk assessments.
