
Responsibilities
The Construction Superintendent will be responsible for coordinating all field operations for one of our upcoming large‑scale, fast‑track commercial projects, ensuring commitment to quality and safe construction practices. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Onsite field supervision of all construction activities, overseeing third‑party vendors and contractors
Maintain project schedules, proactively managing the project budget by owning approvals, deliveries, controlling expenses, and reviewing submittals
Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, city and county officials, and clients to ensure compliance and smooth project execution
Collaborate with internal Project Managers, Design Managers, and Development Managers to ensure all project goals are met
Oversee the construction document coordination phase, reviewing document packages for procurement, and developing detailed scopes of work
Assist in formulating, maintaining, and executing the project schedule, ensuring the timely completion of all phases
Manage the permit process, working closely with expeditors, DOB (Department of Buildings), MTA (Metropolitan Transportation Authority), and other governmental entities to meet regulatory requirements
Lead jobsite foreman meetings and ensure all team members are aligned with project goals and timelines
Compensation The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.
Anticipated base salary range: $150,000 - $200,000
Actual base salary within the anticipated range will be determined by several components including, but not limited to, the individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and market factors.
Qualifications
15+ years of experience in major commercial construction, with a focus on core and shell projects
Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management preferred
Demonstrated leadership through experience and growth, including managing major trades such as MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), structural, and foundations
Proven ability to supervise a major portion of the project(s) from inception to completion
In charge of obtaining TCO (Temporary Certificate of Occupancy) by coordinating trades, including Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, Elevators, and Fire Alarm
Project experience: minimum of 7 projects, with the last two serving as a principal team member for at least 75% of the project duration
OSHA 40 card, Site Safety Training (SST) Supervisor card, and NYC Superintendent License required. Additional certificates that demonstrate commitment to the construction industry are highly beneficial
