Position Summary The Digital Cyber Underwriter is responsible for underwriting, pricing, and producing cyber insurance quotes for small/medium business clients using a proprietary technology platform. This role blends underwriting judgment with efficient, data-driven decision-making to deliver accurate, timely quotes while supporting profitable growth of the Cyber portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate small/medium business cyber risks received through wholesale brokers using automated underwriting tools, third-party data, and platform-generated insights
Produce, review, and bind cyber insurance quotes through a technology-enabled platform
Apply underwriting guidelines, pricing models, and risk appetite consistently
Identify risk characteristics related to data security, privacy, and technology exposures
Collaborate with Product, Technology, and Operations teams to improve underwriting workflows and platform performance
Build and maintain strong relationships with wholesale brokerage partners through responsive, professional communication to support distribution and portfolio growth
Actively follow up on issued quotes and respond to broker inquiries regarding coverage, pricing, and underwriting decisions to support quote-to-bind conversion
Collaborate with Distribution and Leadership teams to align underwriting strategy with wholesale channel goals
Gather broker feedback to help improve product design, underwriting rules, and platform functionality
Monitor portfolio performance and flat trends or emerging cyber risks
Qualifications
2+ years of underwriting experience, preferably in Cyber and/or Technology E&O
Strong understanding of cyber risk exposures for small/medium businesses
Comfort working in a tech-forward, platform-based underwriting environment
Ability to balance speed, accuracy, and sound underwriting judgment
Strong analytical and decision-making skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with automated or rules-based underwriting platforms
Familiarity with cyber security controls, data privacy regulations, or risk assessment tools
Prior high-growth environment experience
