About the Opportunity We are looking for a Senior Snowflake Developer with a minimum of 10 years of experience in database development and 4–5 years of experience in Snowflake development and administration. This role involves leading the design, development, testing, deployment, and optimization of data warehouse solutions on the Snowflake platform.

The position requires close collaboration with data and application teams to deliver scalable, secure, and enterprise‑grade data solutions. Deep expertise in Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, and strategic implementation is essential.

Candidate should be local and work from offices in San Francisco or San Ramon.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise‑grade applications using Snowflake.

Optimize Snowflake SQL queries, stored procedures, and transformation logic for performance and cost‑efficiency.

Be the subject master expert on Snowflake and communicate effectively with other development teams.

Manage Snowflake configurations including resource monitors, virtual warehouses, stages, integrations, and role‑based access controls.

Implement best practices for partitioning, clustering, caching, and query performance tuning (e.g., Query Profiler, micro‑partition pruning, data spilling).

Experience with semantic layer tools such as dbt Semantic Layer is a plus.

Utilize Cortex AISQL to embed AI operations directly into SQL for multimodal data analysis.

Utilize SnowConvert to migrate SQL scripts from platforms like SQL Server or Oracle to Snowflake.

Automate data ingestion, metadata management, and monitoring using Snow SQL, Snow Pipes, Streams, Tasks, and Dynamic Tables.

Support CI/CD and DevOps workflows using tools like Redgate Flyway and Git for version control and pipeline orchestration.

Integrate Snowflake with reporting and data processing tools such as SSRS and Tableau.

Stay current with Snowflake innovations and lead proof‑of‑concepts for new features.

Create technical documentation and knowledge transfer plans for operational teams.

Requirements

10+ years of experience in database development, data engineering, or analytics.

4+ years of hands‑on experience with Snowflake architecture & development.

Strong proficiency in SQL and Snow SQL scripting.

Extensive experience with T‑SQL stored procedures and complex query development.

Deep understanding of Snowflake internals, including Time Travel, Zero Copy Cloning, Streams, Tasks, and Dynamic Tables.

Familiarity with Snowflake Intelligence for natural language querying and agentic AI workflows.

Expertise in identity and access management, data masking, and other security best practices.

Proven ability to resolve performance and scalability issues in Snowflake environments.

Solid grasp of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and metadata management.

Preferred Qualifications

SnowPro Advanced Architect or Advanced Data Engineer certification.

Experience with Azure cloud services including Azure SQL MI, ADLS, and Azure Data Factory.

Familiarity with tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, Confluence, and Azure DevOps.

Experience with Semantic Views and Gen2 Warehouses for enhanced performance and business logic modeling.

Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross‑functional technical and business teams.
