Custom Cabinet Fabricator - Euro-Style Specialist
Join a growing custom cabinet shop that values efficiency, craftsmanship, and career growth.
About Hurst Construction We're a premier custom home builder in Kansas City with an expanding in‑house cabinet and millwork shop. Our focus is high‑end residential projects where quality and efficiency drive profitability. We track productivity, optimize workflows, and invest in our team's success.
The Opportunity We're adding an experienced fabricator to our production team to help us scale operations while maintaining our quality standards. While euro‑style cabinetry is our core work, you'll also build custom millwork, architectural elements, and specialty pieces that make our projects unique.

our primary focus.
Build custom millwork: crown molding, baseboards, casings, wainscoting.
Create architectural elements: custom door frames, built‑ins, shelving systems.
Occasional furniture pieces and specialty woodwork.
Read and execute shop drawings with precision.
Operate table saws, edgebanders, shapers, wide belt sanders, and other shop machinery.
Build to tight tolerances—our clients expect perfection.
Collaborate with designers and project managers on technical solutions.
Help optimize production workflows (we track and improve processes continuously).
Assist with installations
- deliveries, site prep, cabinet installation, and troubleshooting.
Mentor junior team members as we grow.
Requirements - Non-Negotiable
3+ years of cabinet‑making experience
with proven Euro‑style/frameless construction knowledge.
Strong understanding of euro hardware systems (Blum, Salice, Grass, etc.)
Proficiency with shop machinery—you should be comfortable and safe on all standard equipment.
Ability to read architectural and shop drawings.
Track record of producing high‑quality work efficiently.
Valid driver's license; box truck experience preferred.
Physical capability: lift 80 lbs, stand extended periods, work on job sites.
What Makes You Stand Out
Millwork and trim carpentry experience.
Furniture building or fine woodworking background.
Installation experience (hanging cabinets, scribing, site problem‑solving).
Experience with project‑based time tracking.
Knowledge of material optimization and waste reduction.
Understanding of high‑end residential client expectations.
Flexibility to work between shop and field as projects demand.
Compensation & Benefits
$26-32/hour
based on demonstrated skills and efficiency.
Performance‑based raises as you improve speed and take on complex work.
Comprehensive benefits: Health, Life, STD, 401(k) with match, PTO.
Optional dental, vision, and accident coverage.
Tool assistance program.
What Growth Looks Like Here
Pay increases
tied to skill development and productivity
Lead fabricator opportunities
as we add team members
Autonomy on complex builds
- prove yourself and run your own projects with less oversight
Skill mastery
- become the go‑to person for challenging details, specialty joinery, or finishing techniques
Variety - you're not building the same cabinets every day; custom millwork and architectural pieces keep it interesting
Job security with a stable builder - we're part of an established construction company, not a standalone cabinet shop
Why This Matters Unlike shops where you're just another pair of hands, we're building something here. We track what works, eliminate inefficiencies, and reward people who help us improve. You'll see the impact of your work in beautiful homes and in your paycheck.
Our shop culture values
Craftsmanship without micromanagement.
Problem‑solving and continuous improvement.
Collaboration over territorialism.
Work‑life balance (consistent schedule, no chronic overtime).
To Apply
Your experience with frameless/euro‑style cabinetry
The most complex cabinet or millwork project you've built
