Position Summary Clerk II Asset Protection is responsible for the protection of the Company's retail store assets by investigating the loss of asset(s) including merchandise, money, and property. This role is responsible for preventing loss and shrink within their assigned stores through thorough monitoring, investigating, surveillance and other loss prevention tactics to include apprehending shoplifters.

Monitor store activity to detect theft, fraud, and policy violations
Conduct surveillance and investigations to identify sources of loss
Apprehend individuals engaged in shoplifting or other dishonest activity in accordance with company policies and local laws
Maintain detailed reports of incidents, investigations, and apprehensions
Collaborate with store management and law enforcement as needed
Perform routine audits to identify and resolve potential security risks
Support store compliance with loss prevention policies and procedures
Contribute to a safe shopping and working environment through active deterrence and visibility
What You Will Bring
High school diploma or GED required, associate degree or relevant certification in Criminal Justice or Security preferred
1-2 years of experience in loss prevention, asset protection, security, or related field preferred
Knowledge of retail operations, shrink reduction strategies, and investigative techniques
Strong observational skills with the ability to detect suspicious behavior and respond appropriately
Ability to remain calm, professional, and objective in high‑pressure situations
Basic understanding of laws related to theft, apprehension, and use of surveillance
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and incident documentation
Comfortable using surveillance equipment, reporting systems, and basic computer applications
Must be able to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and physically apprehend individuals, if necessary, in accordance with company policy and safety standards
