Job Description

Records the spoken word in the courtroom by the Judge, attorneys, witnesses, spectators, deputies, etc., as they are spoken while signifying who is speaking and adding punctuation and time.

Prepares the official transcripts/Reporter's Records as requested or ordered by the Court of Appeals.

Maintains a daily log of cases heard along with worksheets for future reference.

Files exhibits with the District Clerk's office after preparing an exhibit receipt.

Performs related work as required.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements High school diploma or equivalent supplemented by specialized training and two (2) years of experience as a court reporter; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Physical Demands

Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.

Special Certifications and Licenses

Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.

Requires state of Texas Court Reporter's Certificate.

Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.

Additional Qualifications Proposed Compensation:

$44.75 - $48.43
