How will this role impact First Command?

First Command was founded in 1958 by a retired military officer who was enthusiastic about helping service members and their families strengthen their financial security. The Financial Planning & Analytics Team supports this mission by ensuring the firm’s future financial health by providing data-driven analysis to help drive decision making.

Under the Revenue and Profit arm of the FP&A team, they will oversee the data and metrics for the revenue and associated expenses of current and proposed investment products. They will be a key resource on driving product-related decisions and creating the company forecast. Through dashboards that track key metrics and KPIs regarding the sales, revenue, and profitability of our investment products, stakeholders will be better equipped to make strategic decisions regarding the product offering, distribution channels, advisor compensation, driving sales, and product-related investments.

What will you do in this role?

Manage revenue and investment product-related cost forecasts and budgets

Analyze financials of current and proposed investment products including their performance, risks, and opportunities

Collaborate on pricing and profitability analysis, financial models, and business case work that relate to investment products

Conduct market research to identify industry trends as they relate to First Command

Engage with internal stakeholders on current and proposed product offerings

Contribute in Product Committee meetings

Complete other related tasks and duties as agreed upon with FP&A leadership

Specific Responsibilities

Contribute on the preparation of the corporate five‑year business plan and periodic analysis as it pertains to Investment products. This includes scenario planning, sensitivity, and variance analysis which support First Command’s Strategic Plan

Maintain metrics and KPI dashboards for the sales, revenue, and profitability of investment products. Interpret monthly product activity for key stakeholders

What skills & qualifications do you need?

Education/Work Experience

Undergraduate degree in business, finance, economics, or another related field required

MBA, Master’s Degree, or related professional certification (CFP, CFA, etc.) preferred

FINRA Licenses such as the Series 7 preferred

Minimum of 4 years of experience as a financial analyst, business analyst, or other related analyst role

Experience in the Financial Services industry, preferably regarding investment products such as managed accounts and brokerage

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite products

Experience with NetX360, Envestnet, PowerBI, and Salesforce preferred

Exemplary communication skills, both verbal and written, and a demonstrated ability to present material to both technical and non-technical audiences

Comfortable with ambiguity in an evolving role in a growing organization

Strategic thinking and critical reasoning skills

Ability to develop strong relationships across all levels of First Command
