Estimator - Heavy Civil Projects

A Day in the Life of an Estimator: Interpret and analyze construction drawings and specifications accurately. Solicit competitive quotes from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring estimates are 95% complete before formal review with the Chief Estimator. Develop a rough project schedule to establish timeframes effectively. Collaborate with superintendents to review estimated productions and finalize bids. Input detailed data into HCSS HeavyBid software. Perform additional duties as needed to support project estimations. What We’re Looking For: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field preferred. 3-5 years of experience in heavy civil work is required. Strong organizational skills are essential to juggle various tasks effectively. Ability to foster positive working relationships with owners, project engineers, and local government offices. Skilled in performing accurate project take-offs and estimates. Excellent verbal communication skills to interact with employees, external vendors, owners, and general contractors. Capable of writing clear and logical correspondence. Proficient in Microsoft Office Software, HCSS HeavyBid & HeavyJob, Primavera P6 Scheduling Software, and Accounting Software is preferred.
