
Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Tax Preparer for a well-established, mission-driven CPA firm serving individuals and small businesses. This role is primarily onsite in Southwest Portland, Oregon, with remote flexibility available for the right candidate.
POSITION OVERVIEW The Tax Preparer will support a high-volume seasonal tax operation by preparing and filing individual and business tax returns with accuracy and efficiency. This role will work closely with the firm’s CPA team to manage tax workflows, ensure compliance, and support clients through the 2026 tax season. This is a contract opportunity running now through April 15, 2026, ideal for a detail-oriented tax professional who thrives in fast-paced environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and file individual, partnership, trust, S-Corp, nonprofit, and small business tax returns
Review financial documentation and verify accuracy of tax data
Enter, organize, and process tax information in UltraTax and QuickBooks
Communicate with the CPA team regarding return status and documentation needs
Maintain accuracy and compliance while managing multiple returns in a deadline-driven environment
Support the firm’s tax season workflow through April 15, 2026
QUALIFICATIONS
Prior hands-on tax preparation experience across individual and entity returns
Experience using
UltraTax and/or QuickBooks
Strong attention to detail and technical accuracy
Ability to work independently in a high-volume, deadline-driven setting
Comfort learning and navigating multiple software systems
