In this rewarding role, you will champion our customers, focusing on enhancing their experience by thoroughly understanding their individual risks and providing tailored solutions for their Middle Markets Property & Casualty insurance requirements.

Building strong relationships with brokers, partners, and clients across diverse industries to achieve our business goals.
Leveraging your Property & Casualty underwriting expertise to analyze risks, assess exposures, and price effectively in order to maintain a profitable portfolio of new and renewal business.
Collaborating closely with various business units—including claims, finance, risk engineering, actuary, and technical underwriting—gaining invaluable insights in a thriving, innovative field.
Utilizing your technical underwriting, negotiation, and communication skills to enhance relationships with our preferred distribution partners in a designated area.
This opportunity is available for either a Middle Markets Underwriter or an Underwriting Specialist, with the hiring manager selecting the appropriate title based on your qualifications and experience. Middle Market Underwriter Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent and a minimum of 1 year of experience in the Insurance or Market Facing sector. OR
High School Diploma or Equivalent and at least 2 years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area, AND
Strong understanding of the insurance industry alongside knowledge of legal and regulatory environments.
Familiarity with underwriting philosophies, techniques, and national/local filing regulations and guidelines.
Middle Market Underwriting Specialist Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent and a minimum of 3 years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area. OR
High School Diploma or Equivalent and at least 6 years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area. OR
Completion of the Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice program with an Associate Degree and at least 1 year of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing sector. OR
Completion of the Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice program with an Associate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area, AND
Knowledge of various lines of business and an understanding of legal and regulatory guidelines.
Experience in managing time constraints for quotes on new and renewal business.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree.
Established relationships with Property & Casualty broker partners.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
CPCU and ARM designations are a plus.
Your compensation at Zurich reflects your role, location, skills, and experience. We adhere to local laws to ensure fair remuneration, and you may qualify for bonuses and merit increases. If your compensation expectations exceed the stated range, we still encourage your application—your unique background is valuable to us. The salary range for this position is $73,400.00 - $152,200.00. Specifically, for an Underwriter, the proposed range is $73,400.00 - $120,300.00, which includes a short-term incentive bonus of 10%. For an Underwriting Specialist, the proposed range is $92,900.00 - $152,200.00, also with a short-term incentive bonus of 10%.
