As a Lead Cloud Engineer (Cloud Native) at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), you will take on a crucial role in designing, implementing, and delivering cutting-edge cloud solutions tailored for some of Oracle's largest and most strategic clients. Your extensive technical skill set will empower you to architect, build, and support innovative cloud-native environments using Kubernetes, container orchestration, microservices, event-driven architectures, and streaming technologies. With your hands-on expertise, you will ensure our customers enjoy secure, scalable, and resilient deployments on OCI. Key Responsibilities: Architect and implement cloud-native solutions leveraging OCI and leading open-source tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, and Containers. Design and establish event-driven and distributed systems using OCI Services, including Oracle Streaming, Functions, and API Gateway. Automate the deployment and lifecycle management of cloud infrastructure with Infrastructure-as-Code solutions, like Terraform and Ansible. Engage with customers throughout pre-sales, onboarding, and production phases to troubleshoot, optimize, and promote the adoption of OCI's cloud-native capabilities. Act as a technical advisor, advocating best practices in security, scalability, and high-availability within cloud-native architectures. Collaborate with product and engineering teams to provide valuable feedback, influence the product roadmap, and produce technical materials such as whitepapers and solution briefs. Mentor junior engineers and create a supportive, learning-focused environment. Key Qualifications: 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering or architecture roles, focusing on cloud-native technologies. Strong expertise with Kubernetes (AKS, EKS, GKE, or ideally OCI OKE), Docker, and cloud-native ecosystem tools (e.g., Istio, Envoy, Helm, Prometheus, Fluentd). Deep understanding of microservices, RESTful APIs, and event-driven/messaging patterns (Kafka, streaming, serverless). Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (Python, Bash/Shell, Go, etc.). Experience in DevOps practices, CI/CD, automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code (like Terraform, Ansible). Good knowledge of core networking, container security, and IAM concepts in public cloud environments (OCI, AWS, Azure, GCP). Familiarity with cloud monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting of distributed systems. Strong customer-facing skills in a technical advisory, pre-sales, or consulting capacity. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; relevant certifications are advantageous. Bonus Skills: A broad understanding of emerging trends and best practices in cloud-native architecture. Experience with compliance, security, and governance frameworks in enterprise settings. Insight into industry-specific needs and use cases for cloud-native solutions. Active involvement in the cloud-native community through publications or presentations. Compensation and Benefits: US: Hiring range in USD from: $100,900 to $165,300 per annum. May be eligible for equity, eligible for commission with an estimated pay mix of 70/30.
