Description CANDIDATES LOCAL CURRENTLY RESIDING NEAR WORK LOCATION-OAKLAND/BAY AREA OR SACRAMENTO. ASSIGNMENT IS HYBRID. TEAM REPORTS AT THE OAKLAND GENERAL OFFICE OR SACRAMENTO SERVICE CENTER 3 TIMES A WEEK INCLUDING EVERY TUESDAY EACH WEEK. THE OTHER TWO IN OFFICE DAYS WILL BE DETERMINED WITH YOUR SUPERVISOR.

Ability to analyze data, metrics (to assess program performance), and complex situations, identify root causes, and make informed decisions and program adjustments as needed.
Effective planning, communication, tracking/follow-up on requirements/commitments, time management, and organizational skills.
Ability to identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and monitor the various programs for risks.
Prefer electric engineering, advance degrees or equivalent years of experience in the utility industry.
The Compliance & Risk Consultant supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of the framework for compliance and/or risk management. The primary function will be identifying key controls and performing design and effectiveness testing of those controls. May be assigned to support a specific department or area of the business. Scope may be limited to one regulatory agency or may include multiple agencies, laws, and regulations applicable to a specific department or area of the business. Supports revisions to the compliance and/or risk programs and tools as needed based on changes to applicable laws, regulations, and standards. For risk management, develops and maintains a risk register, coordinating with various risk owners to track operational & enterprise risks and the effectiveness of risk mitigation activities. Partners with Subject Matter Experts (SME), Requirement/Risk Owners, and business SMEs to develop controls, and metrics to hold the assigned owners accountable for compliance and/or risk management performance. Supports change management, training, and communication of compliance standards, processes & results and/or risk management standards and risk analyses & assessments. The Compliance & Risk Consultant may also act as a liaison with regulatory agencies and respond to data/reporting inquiries.
Potential Responsibilities
Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to define controls process
Perform and document controls testing for complex utility operational steps.
Support the establishment and maintenance of Compliance Management standards, procedures, and reporting
Develop and drive action plans to achieve and maintain Compliance Program Maturity
Lead or support the inventory and maintenance of regulatory requirements, including confirmation of compliance owners, and mapping to guidance documents, controls, and risk rankings
Perform compliance gap assessments and provide guidance to Requirement/Risk Owners for mitigation plans
Provides expertise to leadership and cross-functional teams regarding development, implementation, and monitoring of controls and mitigation plans.
Support the development and implementation of Electric’s Compliance Controls Program
Lead or support the development and implementation of Shared Compliance Program
Maintain or support the Electric Compliance Management Communications & Training Plan
Develop and provide compliance related best practice training and training materials
Drive process improvements learned from benchmarking and peer-to-peer reviews
Conduct quality reviews on programmatic compliance activities
May act as team lead but does not have any direct reports.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
7+ years of relevant experience
