Responsibilities The ABSN Concentration Director fulfills a vital role in the Baccalaureate Department by overseeing all aspects of the ABSN option. They review transcripts, hold interest sessions for prospective students, provide curricular review submitting revisions when necessary to the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee, engage with entities that promote student success, and manage student academic documents in accordance with retention and management guidelines set forth by the university.
Review transcripts and professional experience in comparison to the concentration requirements to determine the appropriate plan of study for prospective and current students.
Provide oversight for curricular review and revisions according to CON and accreditation bodies procedures and standards.
Hold regular meetings with Associate Deans, Assistant Department Chair, and Department Chair for program review and development.
Submit curricular revisions for review by the CON Undergraduate Curriculum committee as appropriate.
Coordinate and hold regular information sessions for prospective students.
Qualifications Must have earned a Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN). 2 years of clinical nursing experience and 2 years of nursing education experience in an academic setting. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training & Education 2 years of leadership or administration experience in an academic setting; software skills: Canvas or other Learning Management System, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); computer literacy and academic writing proficiency.
License & Certification A valid non‑restricted North Carolina nursing license is required upon employment.
