Job Description The Social Marketing Content Specialist II plays a key role in driving ALSAC/St. Jude’s social media presence through high‑quality content creation, community engagement, and channel optimization. This role manages daily social operations, supports the social content calendar, and contributes to both organic and paid social strategy. In partnership with teams across the enterprise, this position ensures all messaging aligns with St. Jude brand standards while delivering meaningful and engaging experiences for our audiences.
Key Responsibilities Content Creation & Publishing
Create, coordinate, and publish social media content —including copy, images, and video—across multiple platforms, ensuring proper routing and approvals.
Execute daily posts
as outlined in the social messaging calendar using ALSAC‑issued devices.
Manage and maintain the social content calendar , including recommending content for paid amplification and providing rationale.
Ensure consistent tone, voice, cadence, and frequency
across social channels to reinforce brand standards and maximize engagement and performance.
Community Management & Monitoring
Monitor and moderate all St. Jude social communities
(Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.), responding accurately and in real time to questions, comments, and conversations.
Identify and elevate risks, negative sentiment, or emerging issues , particularly those tied to user‑generated content or paid social reactions.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with
Digital, Legal, Brand Marketing, Public Relations, Fundraising, and Hospital teams
to ensure alignment and support the strategic use of social media.
Conduct audits of sub‑community pages
and help develop training resources for departments managing their own pages.
Insights, Optimization & Reporting
Assist with
campaign performance analysis , turning insights into actionable recommendations.
Track and report on social and paid media performance , providing data and insights on daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly cadences.
Support
SEO‑aware optimization
of tags, titles, and URLs to improve ranking, keyword visibility, and trackability.
Industry Expertise & Trend Awareness
Stay current on
social media trends, emerging tools, new formats, and best practices , with emphasis on short‑form video (Reels, TikTok, Shorts) and compelling social copy.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
in Journalism, English, Marketing, Advertising, Information Technology, or a related field.
1+ year of experience
in marketing, communications, or a digital/social media–related role.
Strong
content creation skills , especially short‑form social video.
Excellent
social media copywriting
skills and understanding of tone/voice adaptation.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, evaluate performance data, and collaborate with cross‑functional partners.
This position will be based at our national executive office in Memphis, TN and eligible for hybrid working schedule.
