Job Description The Marketing Manager position will focus on local marketing responsibilities and represent the department both internally and externally. This role involves collaborating across the company and within the department to achieve objectives, acting as the “go‑to” for proposal production, office‑level marketing finances, coordination of client management, and internal marketing/BD training. The incumbent will teach and coach marketing and business development concepts, strategies, and tactics, as well as the culture, services, clients, projects, and people of the company.
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in marketing and business development, be organized, efficient, and passionate about collaboration and learning new concepts. The candidate should also have experience maintaining relationships with key clients, managing proposals, and coordinating internal and external communications.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Manage marketing processes.
Supervise and hire staff as needed.
Represent Coffman Engineers to clients and the community, including coordinating client management with internal staff and attending conferences and organization events.
Establish programs to accomplish marketing‑related aspects of the corporate mission.
Develop marketing plan and budget.
Manage CRM for the local office and/or appropriate markets.
Manage lead tracking, qualification/proposal development, and presentation activities.
Train and mentor engineering staff on marketing/proposal‑related best practices.
Manage development of collateral materials, public relations and advertising programs, special events, and market research activities.
Maintain up‑to‑date understanding of AEC marketing/BD best practices and terminology.
Be actively involved in professional and community organizations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Excellent knowledge of A/E/C industry marketing fundamentals, terminology, and delivery methods.
Mentoring/teaching and leadership/managerial skills.
Self‑starter who sees the big picture and connects the company’s vision with his/her job, persistent and follows through consistently.
Highly competent in marketing theory and practice.
Comprehensive knowledge of the firm’s practice, clientele, goals, policies, and procedures.
Passionate about the client or pursuit and takes ownership of his/her work.
Able to multi‑task and prioritize in a fast‑paced environment.
Possess strong critical‑thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities.
Maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Adobe InDesign required; must understand database concepts.
Able to work independently, as a team member, and as a team leader.
Strong organizational ability; detail oriented; high degree of accuracy.
Must work well under pressure.
Positive contributor to overall office and department goals, culture, and morale.
Qualifications Education & Experience
B.S. degree in a related field preferred.
8+ years of professional A/E/C marketing experience required.
