WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH Reporting to the Practice Editor, Digital Content, the Associate Editor creates, posts, maintains, updates, and curates Bain’s digital content in various formats and on various online channels. They have a good understanding of digital presentation and visual formats (e.g., infographics, snap charts) and collaborate with the Editorial Data Visualization Team, Brand Design, and Digital COEs to develop such content. WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM This role requires an understanding of content strategy, the ability to learn and use data visualization tools effectively, the ability to effectively communicate with a non-technical audience, and comfort with using AI as an assistant in editorial tasks. The Associate Editor consistently meets deadlines, manages their time effectively, and proactively identifies and resolves conflicts or roadblocks.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Producing high-quality online content that reflects Bain's industry or capability points of view in multiple formats, especially shorter, visual formats; building content from the ground up, repurposing existing content; managing content development and production for practice priority publishing projects, maximizing presentation and online value of all content, securing appropriate rights for external digital content, adjusting the mix of content based on analytics, and understanding the performance of Bain online content. (~75%)
Managing daily and weekly postings and other activities: making routine site improvements to Bain.com using the Episerver content management system, overseeing the work of interns preparing final HTML, assuming primary responsibility for regular curation and maintenance of microsites, curating the Insights home page and pages for Bain’s practices, and ensuring that all projects are properly tracked in Kapost. (25%)
ABOUT YOU This role follows a hybrid model, requiring in-office presence at least 2 days per week.
Required
High school degree
Experience working in an online publishing environment, with direct experience working with online content management systems
Experience with Episerver a plus, but not required
Should have experience and feel comfortable meeting deadlines and working in cross-functional teams
Fluency in online content
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Strong knowledge of MS Office tools, i.e., Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Familiarity with generative AI platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, etc.)
Working knowledge or experience with online and creative publishing platforms, e.g., content management systems, WordPress, Adobe Suite (including Photoshop), HTMP, etc.
Ability to work collaboratively within and across teams and influence others
Ability to communicate with key stakeholders effectively in an open, honest and direct fashion
Ability to generate solutions, not just identify problems
Demonstrate a high commitment to customer service
Maintain a high degree of team spirit, pitching in where needed and respecting all contributing members of the team
