Overview We are currently seeking an intellectually and culturally curious Mid-Level Freelance Designer with 5-10 years of professional interior design experience. Candidates should have experience across residential, hospitality, retail, and experiential design, and be able to manage 2–3 projects simultaneously while maintaining design intent, schedule, and budget.
Responsibilities The Designer will:
• Work on 2–3 projects at a time to ensure quality and adherence to schedule and budget.
• Direct junior and entry‑level designers on projects of varying scale and typology.
• Liaise regularly with vendors and consultants.
• Communicate fluently in English, both written and verbal.
Qualifications
Education: Undergraduate and/or graduate degree in interior design, architecture, or a related field.
Experience: 5–10 years of professional experience in a design studio, excluding internships.
Diverse Portfolio: Demonstrated residential design experience required; varied experience across commercial, retail, and hospitality projects, including large‑scale ground‑up work, is highly preferred.
Technical Proficiency: High‑level proficiency in AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, Excel; V‑Ray proficiency is ideal but not required.
Design & Visualization: Ability to take projects from concept through construction, including conceptual sketches, renderings, design and construction drawings, documentation, millwork design, and material palette creation. Extensive knowledge of NYC consultants, showrooms, and vendors is preferred.
Approach: Resourceful, independent yet collaborative; thrives in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary setting; collaborative spirit within a small, energetic team.
Additional Requirements All applicants must be currently located in NYC and authorized to work in the United States.
