Energy Supply Trader , you'll be responsible for short-term trading, scheduling, releasing idle transportation capacity, researching, planning, and evaluating resource supply systems and economic factors to optimize resources and reliability. If you possess knowledge of gas and coal commodities markets and resources, and are passionate about maintaining the safety, system reliability, and low-cost mission of our organization, we want to hear from you!

Senior Trader ($121,742 to $152,152)
based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
What Else Will You be Doing?
Negotiating short-term purchases and sales and delivery contracts to ensure demand is met
Performing analyses to predict and plan for load, supply resources, and/or reserve obligations
Scheduling, re-routing, and confirming natural gas using transportation, storage, and peaking contracts across multiple interstate and intrastate pipelines through the nomination and confirmation process
Avoiding pipeline penalties and managing imbalance differences between pipelines, storage providers, suppliers, and buyers
Developing and maintaining positive relationships with pipelines, suppliers, and markets to facilitate the uninterrupted flow of gas and resolve discrepancies
Responding to changing load and supply resource situations
Monitoring and collecting market intelligence impacting transportation and storage
Arranging for transportation, storage, and other services associated with sales and purchases
Researching and adhering to industry regulations, scheduling practices, contract terms and conditions, and applicable tariffs (e.g., FERC)
Structuring and executing natural gas transactions across daily, monthly, and short-term to ensure system reliability
Please note that this position requires participating in after-hours and weekend on-call rotation, which includes reviewing each cycle for cuts, adjusting gas movements as needed, submitting last-cycle nominations, and coordinating with Real-Time Traders, interstate pipelines, Gas Control, and counterparties.
Who You Are
Knowledge of Rockies pipeline systems, basis markets, tariffs, storage, nominations, and physical logistics
Experience with Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) systems and related analytical software products
Experience with scheduling and/or trading natural gas across multiple interstate pipelines
Knowledge of natural gas/coal/propane and diesel marketing principles; applicable regulations (e.g., FERC, NAESB); commodity management; and analytical and evaluation techniques of complex data
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or small amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met. Positions in this class typically require talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions within an office working environment.
