Job Description
Apogee Insurance Group
is a Berkshire Hathaway specialty broker focused on Professional (E&O), Management (D&O, EPL, Crime, and Fiduciary), Cyber, and Pollution Liability. Our product expertise, service, and focus on independent retail agents set us apart from other wholesalers. We are licensed in all 50 states and provide both admitted and excess & surplus terms from over 60 insurance companies. With offices located in Philadelphia, Chicago, and Mission Viejo; our team members believe in face-to-face relationships to assist our customers with the best experience in placing Professional and Management Liability.
Primary responsibilities of all Apogee sales positions include:
Drive New Business Submissions
from independent retail insurance agencies by outbound sales activity:
Build and maintain relationships with Apogee’s current customer base and with potential customers by conducting a mixture of outbound phone calls, virtual meetings, and in-person visits
Share the Apogee Story with independent retail agents, utilizing sales skills to demonstrate Apogee’s products, quoting platforms, specialization, speed, accessibility, and value-added service
Follow up on opportunities from prior years and convert leads to formal new business activity
Prospect retail agencies through systematic communication to initiate contact and uncover opportunities for new business
Follow up on new business opportunities with both retail insurance agents and Apogee account managers and assist account managers in the selling of quotes
Develop Customer Relationships:
Revisit prospects that have contacted us in the past where a relationship doesn’t currently exist
Be an advocate to our retail agent customers during the insurance application/underwriting and quoting process
Monitor production of customers to achieve submission and premium production goals with defined territory
Utilize sales software (ACT), account management software (AIM) and MS Office to manage customer relationships and update customer profiles.
Requirements:
Energetic, goal-oriented, methodical, accountable, and has a positive attitude
Multi-tasking, team player with time management and organizational skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong presentation and organizational skills
Ability to work both independently and in teams
2-3 years of hands‑on experience in sales and/or marketing is preferred, however graduating college seniors and recent graduates are encouraged to apply
Property & Casualty License obtained within first 90 days of employment
