As the Gas Foreman, you will lead the crew in installing and repairing natural gas pipelines and joint trench utilities for power and telephone, ensuring safety and productivity while meeting quality standards and project timelines. Responsibilities
Oversee and coordinate crew work to install natural gas pipelines via open‑cut or directional drill methods. Obtain all necessary licenses, permits, and materials for each job. Maintain work quality and ensure projects meet standards and deadlines. Delegate daily tasks to crew members related to digging and placing product. Gain entry to site buildings and call‑in utilities located at each project site. Facilitate daily toolbox talks and weekly safety inspections. Complete all paperwork in a timely manner. Train new hires and trainees on trade skills. Track employee hours and submit for payroll on time. Conduct utility calls and inspections to ensure proper identification and exposure of existing utilities. Operate equipment to support crews in completing work. Maintain job progress, perform cleanup, and undertake job restoration. Communicate with customers and inspectors. Perform additional duties as required or assigned. Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent. At least 3 years of experience in gas pipeline construction or maintenance, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role. Proficiency in fusing, tapping, pressure testing, and purging. CDL Class A license (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire). OSHA 10 Certification. Knowledge of gas safety and ability to work safely with natural gas. Ability to read and interpret customer specifications and construction drawings. Expertise in all phases of line construction. Strict adherence to safety standards and procedures, following the higher of MasTec or customer requirements. Strong customer service communication skills. Experience operating heavy equipment and general construction work. Ability to visually inspect fusion or welded joints, spot utilities, and identify ground marks by color. Clear vision at 20 feet or less and ability to judge distance and spatial relationships. Precise hand‑eye coordination. Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions. Preferred
Previous experience with Atmos Gas. Physical Demands and Work Environment
This field role requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), and twisting. Work may occur in extreme heat, cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind. Clear vision and hand‑eye coordination are essential. Benefits
